I can't see how people hate the Raiders tbh. They don't get in the media enough to piss anyone off tbh.
Just a team of journeymen really, I like to watch "name" players when I'm watching the League.

half a dozen of these guys will be rep footballers...

24-12 kick to come, Raiders could run up a cricket score now...

I sure hope we do. What's the crowd like at the match? Cause it was delayed so it must be larger than usual?

ideally the Raiders would like Zillman in the centres with Bronx Goodwin at fullback, Zillman is just too small to play in the centres atm, Howell is woeful and is lucky to be even playing in Premier League.

One thing on Howell though, I saw him with Lincoln Withers in town last week and I couldnt believe how big he is, he'd be 100kg's easy, i can see why he'd be picked on his size and strength alone, pity he has nothing else...

20-12 now btw...
ZIllman's defence isn't really close to being good enough for centre, and I don't really see him breaking the line without the freedom of fullback. Phil Graham is the only player they have that is a first grade standard centre really. The next best centre they have, IMO, is Terry Campese, but I won't go into that. He's viewed as a lock/five-eighth but he clearly isn't. He looked useful when he filled in at centre the other week and he's played some really good Premier League games there. Hmm... well it looks like I did go into that - but I'll stop there. :p

As for Howell, he actually has a fair bit to like about him. He has size, strength and actually a lot of skill with ball in hand. The main problem with him is the fact that he couldn't tackle a fishing rod, and he has hands like a goat. He pro bably could have really benefited with some more time in Premier League before getting picked - he was picked too early and essentially stopped developing the core basics that one doesn't really "learn" training with the first grade side.

The Roosters looked great in the first 10 minutes or so, but have fallen down flat on their faces and look simply embarrassing. The Raiders turned their game around and have worked hard to be 14 points in front half time. The strange thing is the Roosters have made less tackles, made more line breaks, have not missed any many tackles as the Raiders, but are still way behind on the scoreboard. The Raiders are doing a lot more with the ball than the Roosters. If the Roosters are going to make up these 14 points, they need Anasta to get his hands on the ball more (hopefully hang onto it) and work some magic.

POSSESSION:
Raiders - 52%
Roosters - 48%

COMPLETION RATE:
Raiders - 15/21
Roosters - 15/19

TACKLES:
Raiders - 164
Roosters - 137

MISSED TACKLES:
Raiders - 23
Roosters - 17

Dobson off the field with a back problem  Hopefully the Junee spirit will kick in and make him better.

Raiders end up winning 37-28. The Roosters did well to fight back to give themselves a chance of winning but they were their own worst enemies. It was probably their best performance all year though and Anasta even had a good game, so hopefully a win isn't too far away. I can't see Anderson lasting much longer either.

Strange game really, Roosters looked good when they got momentum, i dont think they'll stay winless for much longer but they need to make the most of their chances.

Withers was good for the Raiders and Weyman again showed how good he's going to be with some more match fitness, what else can you say about Carney, he's a kid running the show and doing it brilliantly, what a gun...

Was quite impressed with young Todd Carney, peope have got big wraps on him and he certainly isn't disappointing.

anyway kiwi squad has been named. Apparently the ARL are blocking Brent Webb from playing for the kiwis again as he is no longer a NZ resident. That's a bit of a shame. He always played his best football in the test match arena.
FFS. That's so tight. What is the law on qualifying by residence anyway? I thought once you'd done your three years you were permanently good to go.

That should be the case, but the ARL has got it's knickers in a twist over the whole Nathan Fien saga last year and are just being as difficult as possible.

Chris Walker you genius.

Does everything to ruin his career again. He can copunt himself extremly lucky Michael Searle didn't decide to rip his contract in 1000 little pieces and throw it in his face.
