*Official* 1st Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 05 - 09 Feb 2021

White Ball

State 12th Man
Don’t see India winning now, but with all the high scoring chases plus with what SA are doing I can see England delaying the declaration so can only see this being a draw

Pitch playing up enough to think we should be winning this. If India survive we will have bowled badly.
Hopefully - although i think one can always get a misleading impression of quite how much a pitch is 'playing up' when a team is batting ultra aggressively (ironically the opposite can also sometimes be true!)

I left the action for 20 minutes fully expecting Pope to depart during my absence, so I'm astonished to come back and see that he's still there but Root has gone. I don't think there's going to be any need for a declaration.

They won't get anywhere near 38 overs (or the 35-36 with the switchover) tbh. India only bowled 25 that past sesssion and will slow it down even further. England were bloody 3 overs short yesterday which is terrible given the match situation.

Do you really think so? The Indians will play spin better than most of the England side, and our spinners aren't in the same league as Ashwin anyway.
I have not much expectations from Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit although talented finds ways to get out, Kohli is probably out of the purple patch. With exceptions to Pujara and Pant, not much I expect, although I would love to be proven wrong.

Didn't help with them having to get the ball from the stands constantly.

No crowd to just chuck it back to them.
