Notice he got no swing on his throw either.

You'd have to be deluded to deny he's not a swingdaddy and nothing more.
Anderson match figures so far of 37-12-67-2. So for someone that can only swing the ball and nothing else, pretty economical stuff considering the ball hasn’t swung! Aussie bats clearly missing a trick here.

It was the pitch, not him.

Someone posted a video a little bit back of the guy painting the line. They put a rod down on the ground and paint along it's edge. The ground beneath, having depressed from foot marks is below this rod, so the only deviation possible from the straight line is the spread of the paint brush beneath. That would be consistent. The wobble is all optical illusion. Anyways... It is the same line that the Australians batted with.

How people jump to 5-0 so easily. Test matches often turn on the back of one bad day. England have put out theirs. Australia are now due.

He's a very, very skilful bowler and anyone that claims his success is all down to the conditions really doesnt know what they are talking about

When it has happened two out of the last three times, and we've managed to get wrecked here despite playing better than expected for large parts, it's an easy conclusion to jump to.

Still I stand by my 4-0 prediction.

For certain. Look at the discipline he and Broad bowled with first dig and the way they adjusted their plans for each batsman. Ok, they didn’t nail TPC but they basically did the rest, and Australia is going to win this test because its change bowlers are better and more consistent than England’s. Also, that long spell without Broad or Anderson bowling on day three was crucial.

As far as I know its at the umpires discretion, Its all irrelevant, you just have to have something grounded behind the line whether the line is 1.22 or 1.21 or 1.23m from the stump, the rule is very simple, something needs to be grounded behind the line, that's it, that's all you need to do.
Been playing/watching cricket most of my life and the bold is one of the first things that you learn

People obviously have differing views as to whether he had anything behind the line but speculation surrounding the straightness/width etc of the line itself is just crap

Burgey, can you pop round to your neighbour Sri and have a little word with him? His behaviour in this thread is unacceptable and I think you need to shut him down before it goes any further.

Cheers.

FFS, as explained above. The line is straight, the ground is not. If you had the view from directly above the line would look perfectly straight because it's painted using a straight template. It looks wobbly from off to the side because that's what happens when you look at a straight line over a very not flat surface.

Keep something behind the line or **** off back to the pavilion.

This is objectively false, and I have the data to back it up.

So from my pre-series predictions:

- Australian top three to be a clear win over the English top three - inconclusive. I certainly expected and continue to expect Cook to struggle. Apart from the special circumstances of 10/11 we've pretty much always had his measure. Might jag a 50 somewhere along the line, but an average in the 20s might be a good result for him. Stoneman and Vince did real good first innings, but faster harder pitches than day 1 here will probably sort them out. Didn't think Renshaw would be dropped, but clearly Bancroft is in better form than him. The slower pitch didn't help Warner in the first innings, but now it's hardened up a bit and Davey is being Davey. Questions over Khawaja obviously, but Moeen isn't good enough to make a bunny of him I reckon. He'll only need to get through an over or two and he'll be away and hurting England.

- Lyno to be a big factor. - bang on. As expected the Lyon v Moeen battle isn't really a battle at all. Nafe will probably have one of his best ever home summers with so many lefties to bowl to and Moeen is going to average 70+ and go at near enough to 4rpo for the rest of the tour.

- Pommy 6/7. inconclusive. Moeen and Bairstow made solid contributions in 3/4 innings, but no where near enough to win. England will need tons from these two to put scores on the board that will challenge.

And for all the ****iness of the English fans on day's 1 & 2, Australia's pace attack in these conditions is miles in front. Broad and Anderson bowled very well. Some of their best efforts in this country. But see them off and the pressure is gone. Even with Starc and Haze (in the first innings) bowling below their standard it was a harder job for the English bats. If the curator has a brain and produces a nice fast classic WACA wicket then it will be ugly. Adelaide might be better for the pommy attack but our attack won't struggle there either.

And lastly of course in case anyone was silly enough not to have worked it out already:
1: Smith
2: Daylight.
