Good stuff from the Colts to rank high in both lists. Well Jaso at least in the batting :P

Congrats to Simon for his fourth consecutive season of 1000 runs!

LOL @ those stats. Clearly shows who the dominant team is, Blue have so many consistent performers in both the OD and FC arenas. Couldn`t be happier with the way Blue has gone this season, awesome team, couldn`t have a nicer bunch of blokes. One of my best seasons ever as well, I`ve really enjoyed it. :)

It's kinda funny, we had a little discussion once, where it was said it was hard to turn from being good at one form of the game, to being good at the other. I.e the issue of specialists. And that once your settled into one sort of role, its difficult to change out. Ive gone from being crap at od, and feeble at fc, to being above average at od, and not getting a game at fc:P

I can relate to that. this season my OD form has been crap but my FC form improved.

As with last year, the Batting XI and Bowling XI were selected by ranking players in five different areas and then finding out their average ranking... the top players using this system for season 10 were:

Top OD Batsman: Ian Markus (CW Red)
Runs - #1
Average - #2
Strike Rate - #5
Highest Score - #3
Number of 50+ Scores - #1
Average Ranking: 2.4
2nd: Brendan Goff (CW Blue) on 5.4

Top OD Bowler: Tom Halsey (CW Blue)
Wickets: #5
Average: #2
Economy Rate: #1
Strike Rate: #3
Best Bowling: #11
Average Ranking: 4.4
2nd: Liam Camps (CW Blue) on 5.2

Top FC Batsman: Andrew Cloete (CW Blue)
Runs: #2
Rating: #1
Average: #1
Highest Score: #13
% of Innings over 50: #2
Average Ranking: 3.8
2nd: Shan Jasotharan (CW Colts) on 4.2

Top FC Bowler: GM Thomas (CW Colts)
Wickets: #1
Rating: #1
Average: #4
Best Bowling (Innings): #9
% of 5w/10w per match: #2
Average Ranking: 3.4
2nd: David Kennett (CW Red) on 4.8

Congrats to the above four players on terrific seasons.

Just looking over the stats and ignoring everything else except this. Just thought I'd point out how much of an absolute gun in the OD form Tom Halsey is. I'd go so far as to say he's a better player than Neil and should atleast be in the team whether he's ahead of or behind Neil. Nothing against Neil, Halsey is just a gun! :D

Over this season i couldnt split thier bowling. Batting wise Halsey is definatly more skilled, this season showed with a S.R of 130 with 200 odd runs and 3 50's. Overally thier bowling stats are very similar also, but Neils experiance in the ODI arena must count for somethnig?

i would have them both in the side, regardless of the pitch conditions, i think they are both a class above most of the seamers outside maybe Hoy.

Loony just a question vis a vis those ratings, how come you use current rating at the end of the season rather than highest rating over the season?

I was the second-fastest spinner ever to 100 ODI wickets...

Still, Halsey played in the Caribbean ODIs and I didn't for a reason - and now that a) he impressed, and b) we don't appear to have many clearly ODI standard seamers at the moment barring Hoy, then it seems that two spinners is a fairly safe ODI bet for the buildup to the World Cup.

My ODI batting average is also 15.14!

Because if I'm right, the highest rating over the season is largely defined by who performs on the first day. It'd be sort of like saying "when was your average the highest" - if someone hit 100 on the first day, they'd have an average of 100, so their rating would be really high too.
