I fed up with the big 3 hget rid of them and put them in to a Euro league so they other teams could be in with a chance of some sliverware

great game at the Hawthorns last night... it was a bummer we lost our lead in the last kick of the game

Graham Poll = excellent - showed why he's England's number one ref.
Had a good game, not a good history though IMO. The Man City goal he disallowed a few weeks ago was ridiculous (even if it was technically correct, there is another unwritten law called common sense), and IMO he's an attention seeker, as he was straight infront of the cameras afterwards.

I think the criticism of him regarding him being an attention seeker are a bit wrong and was just Schmeichel taking things out or proportion. There was obviously a rule that no-one really observed or knew and to avoid any debacle he explained the situation. If he was such an attention seeker he would have come to the cameras last night with regards the vieira/neville incident.

That was an example. I mentioned this a while ago, too. A few years ago, he went on TV BEFORE the Arsenal v Liverpool game he was about to ref. Richard 'Annoying' Keys's last words to him were 'I hope we don't have to talk about you after the game.' Of course Poll made sure they did with 3 sendings off, in a fairly calm game, and none were justified IIRC. Of course, as a United fan I loved the suspensions for the teams who were at the time our nearest challengers!

So even though he got it right, you're criticising him.
He hadn't blown the whistle, yet everyone was ready for it. So yes, I am. As I say, technically correct, but common sense would be to let it stand.

But i think Poll is trying to find a level of consistency in the game, therefore even though your common sense said he should have let the goal go, it wouldn't have been consistent with the rules.

Even if he's told them to wait for the whistle?

Technically speaking if he's said that then he's entitled to book the for dissent.

Don't think he did.

Everyone was ready for it, the defending team (WBA) gained no disadvantage, so I see no reason why it shouldn't stand.

Because if he's said wait for the whistle, then that is what the player has to do, doesn't matter if both sides were ready, by not blowing his whistle, the referee hasn't indicated he was ready.

And if you read my post, you'd see that I don't think he did.

Common sense dictates then that no team gained a disadvantage, the goal should stand. Whether technically correct or not, it was fair in that no team got a disadvantage at all. It is also interesting to note that when the goal originally went in, no defenders had a problem with it.
