Way more than Taunton town.. For such a sizeable town these days, it must be the only place where more people watch the County Championship at the cricket ground than the local football team.. I guess Worcester and Chester le Street might compete on that ground though

Ok, then, that's obviously not this season. I'd still rather watch Southend.

I hate Graham Poll. Whether it was in the laws or not, there is an unwritten law called 'Common Sense'. Also interesting to note how he was straight in front of the camera after the game.

Ah, what did he do?

Fail to give 5 penalties to Manure?

Try that one again marc. He disallowed a man city goal after saying he hadn't blown his whistle i.e the opposite of the thierry henry decision. Apparently the free kick taker can take the shot "slow" or "quick". If quick, the whistle isn't needed ala henry, and if slow then the wall must be paced out and whistle blown when everyone is ready.

Actually I think it's all down to the referee's individual options - which he has to tell the captains before the game.

If it's all written down in the book then fair enough it's indisputably a rule. But i think it was a harsh and kind of twisted decision on behalf of poll.

If he said something to the player than that is all that matters.

On a side note QPR's winner yesterday was apparently a tad dubious as to whether it crossed the line.

The referee was our friend Mark Clattenberg....

Fair enough, but I'd have thought common snese came into play there. And he comes across to me as though he just wants to be in the centre of attention. One Arsenal v Liverpool from a few years ago comes to mind... 3 sendings off IIRC, none justified IIRC.

I'd be highly surprised if it's not.

Just because Arsene Wenger didn't see the incident doesn't mean it wasn't justified ;)

Now, be fair, they've only got a ten point lead! ;)

I was mighty relieved to hear the final whistle vs The Geordies. We absolutely battered them second half, but Shay Given played a blinder. he pulled off three stunners & several merely very good ones. It had the look of "one of those games" & very nearly was when Bowyer was clean thru; luckily he hit it straight at our Spanish goalkeeping equivalent of a panic attack!

We're playing for second, mind.

Can wenger stop harping on about how "attractive" arsenal play like he's trying to justify how attractive=best. For god's sake however you wish to put the ball in the net is irrelevant, so long as it gets there. After every game now he comments how they will catch chelsea because they play the more "attractive" football. He should just admit that arsenal have lost it and that they will never win back back titles.

I'm an Arsenal fan of over 20 years standing, but even I find it a tad ironic that we should be taking the moral high-ground where it comes to playing beautiful football.

George Graham must be rolling in his grave... :D

Imagine the uproar if he so much as uttered that in his sleep.. He's got to do his job, if that was a serious point..
