I'd definitely take him ahead of Cairns and Symonds. The others are closer and more in his league.

His ODI bowling record for the era he played in is massively underrated, especially his economy rate.
Agree. In an all time ODI XI, Flintoff is a serious consideration (along with Imran) for all rounder's spot. Klusener, Watson, Jayasuriya will be fodder for a team of similar caliber.

The only thing that stops me picking Flintoff in an ATG XI is that he actually took a little while to get set and I don't think he was very suited to #7 as a result.

In most actual real-life teams they'd have just batted him at 5 and had hitters after, but at that level above you're not gonna bat him above de Villiers or Dhoni for example.

Pollock and Jayasuriya make way for Bevan and Garner in my top 10.
When you have Pollock, you don't need Garner. Their adjusted ERs are almost the same. Then Pollock could really use the long handle, and is a better fielder too.

Whether you use Bevan over Jayasuriya is dependent on whether you pick Gilchrist over Dhoni. If you pick Dhoni, you don't need Bevan. Jayasuriya can open. If you pick Gilchrist, then Bevan can be in the middle and you don't need Dhoni.
