Its all about balance really if you pick the side purely on proven preformances then Cooper might have the edge over the form player in Hodges. Personally i would have them both in the side wing, centre it doesn't matter.
the thing is cooper doesnt deserve to be in the team based on past performances or recent form, we would be better served going with Tahu who is proven or Grothe whos in good form along with Hodges who definately deserves his spot based on the last 18 months of football...

LOL are you seriously saying they picked last seasons team on form?? That is the biggest joke i've ever heard...

Half the side had not played for the last 4 weeks of the season, but yeah they were all in form...
we are gonna hear more dribble about how average first graders who were in once in a lifetime exceptional form like John Skandarlis and Ben Galea should have been in the team are we?

Thats all it ever is with you... It takes more then average 1st graders to win a Premiership Simon, pull your head out of the clouds...

As for the Aussie side, they werent who i was talking about, But a player like Brett Hodgson, all season was one of the best players in the comp yet never got a mention... Also how many players from the Grand Final were named in the squad?? 2, in the History of rugby league can you name a time where that has happened? NO, Prince was a token jesture, 1 because he was The Churchill Medalist and 2 because Bennett wanted to suss him out to return to brisbane.. If he hadnt won the Churchill Medal he wouldnt have been there...
Yet players from the Roosters, Bulldogs, Broncos who hadnt won a game for close on 2 months were considered in form and deserving of a spot... yeah typical.....

All i say is Go NZ if thats the way its gonna be...

I don't get why Australians all have to choose to support one code over the other?

I like both pretty much the same... I probably enjoy union because NZ are so good at it and there is a lot more coverage of it over here.

Apparently Thomas Leuluai is more likely, how has he been playing in England Sted, crap as usually?
Yes. Only seen him once this season - at Knowsley Road and he was godawful. Tbf, all 34 players had shockers, but that isn't justification for him playing badly. Struggling to get the Rah-rah's attack organised by the looks of things. Disappointing, as last season he looked to be improving, but this will build his character. Grabbed 2 tries at the weekend.

I'd say Cooper has been better over the last 18 months.

It's kinda the same up here, TBF. Very much a north/south thing. I slightly favour Union, but that's probably an "exposure at an earlier age" thing.

Union really treated League like the poor relation in England til Union went open. Once you'd played senior League, paid or not, you couldn't ever go back to Union. I know a lot of League fans were absolutely steaming when a Challenge Cup final went to Twickers.

Rather lippy for a team that was on the wrong side of a 24-0 scoreline when it mattered...
do NZ fans honestly think that winning that match gives u the honour of best team straight away? One match doesnt prove anything, Australia have been at the top for years and still have the best players, we had one or two poor matches in the tri nations and kiwi's capitialised, unforunately NZ doesnt really have much say in who will win the match, if Australia play anywhere near their best they will win, if they play poorly the nz have a chance, if NZ play out of their skins, australia can still win the match...

we dont all choose, Cloete likes both codes for example, its just that i dont...
it pretty much comes from that in most schools around Australia you either play League or Union, all the schools i went to League was played, even though i did play a bit of union out of school when i was younger i still pretty much always played league...

Not at all. But by the same token, some of the claptrap from the Aussie fans on here (namely you) gives next to no respect for New Zealand as a league nation. And, like it or not, we can only beat who you put out on the park.

i dont think its a lack of respect, i just honestly believe Australia will win easily, forgetting whats happened in the past, in this upcoming match i cant see NZ being close... ive been wrong before and ill be wrong again, but imo we wont lost this game...

Turns out Thurston will get his Test debut and Bailey would have to be in doubt with him being placed on report last night.
