NZ under GrahamB (ICC 2005)

1st Test - England v NZ 2009 (after Day 4)

England batted positively, finally being dismissed late in the day. The victory target looks a long way off for NZ though after James Anderson removed Stephen Fleming with a corker of a ball in the one over available before stumps.
An interesting final day ahead! :p

1st Test - England v NZ 2009 (NZ salvage draw)

When James Anderson knocked the top off the NZ innings to leave us teetering at 36/3 in the first hour, things looked grim.
Then opener Tim McIntosh and Chris Harris put together a dogged stand that carried through well into the afternoon session. Once Harry went, McIntosh followed just before the tea break and the situation was still dicey.
However, rain sent the players scurrying from the field and a precious hour of play was lost. After play resumed, there were 16 overs for NZ to survive and we did so without further loss as Jesse Ryder and Jacob Oram stood firm against the rampaging English pace attack.

A great bowling performance by the lads after England again won the toss and decided to bat.

2nd Test - England v NZ 2009 (after Day 2)

On a day cut short by rain and under very cloudy conditions, the English bowlers struck back to leave the game interestingly poised. :-O

Tomorrow will determine which side will be in the box seat going into the final day.

I have a feeling we'll end up trying to save this rather than win it!

2nd Test - England v NZ 2009 (England take the series 1-0)

The English bowling attack was just too good as NZ crumbled in the final session. :@

Having lost the test series 1-0, we moved on to a warmup OD match against Derbyshire in preparation for the triangular OD tournament involving Aussie.
Although Derbyshire put up a good score, we cruised past it in the 35th over! :)

The first ODI against England was an embarrassment as the English bowlers took full advantage of the heavy cloud cover. :-O

We put up a better performance in the first match up against the Aussies, but another loss and we'll need to turn things around in a hurry!

ODI's in ICC 2005 are random & ridiculous, IMO. Kind of like the fourth innings bug.
On another game I was bowling to numbers 7 and 8 batsman (ie, bowlers) who chaseed down the 60 needed in 5 effing overs. And the bowlers weren't bad either. They both had 3 wickets in the innings at less than 4 an over...

Some consolation :)

It seems both Eng and WI get unbeatable as the game goes on. All the results from the fixtures thing are always in their favour.
