Good spot, that.
I'll buy into this...I watched the Aces highlights and he attributed a genuine, very obvious Gup edge through 2nd slip to the boundary 'smart batting'. I like the guy and he used to be able to call rugby well, but they're giving him far too much reach doing any level of analysisNitpicking yeah…but 9 balls into this game, Sumo has already misidentified an obvious slower ball by Hazeldine as ‘keeping low’ and then claimed that a dead straight ball by Lockrose ‘spun the other way’, presumably implying it was a doosra. He’s just really bad at observing and identifying what is happening, which is a big problem for a lead commentator.
It's good to see him and Phillips coming back and standing out. Santner's batting at this level is so good (kind of like Vettori for a while in Ford Trophy).Santners batting is much like his bowling. Looks slow and like he has all the time in the world
Why does he call overs “sets”Nitpicking yeah…but 9 balls into this game, Sumo has already misidentified an obvious slower ball by Hazeldine as ‘keeping low’ and then claimed that a dead straight ball by Lockrose ‘spun the other way’, presumably implying it was a doosra.
