Now Kelly is gone, just chipping it to a man on the circle. Looks like Wellington haven’t turned up mentally.

Direbirds gonna lose two in a row here. CD are coming for you on the ladder.

Does 2nd get a home final for the eliminator?

While Nathan Smith would have expected to bat in the power play last match, he'd be surprised to bat in PP two games in a row. Considering he's at 8 today.
The idea to bat Nathan Smith at the top when he'd been doing damage in the position he's actually suited was pretty dire, to say the least. I know Rachin is back, but if Smith isn't back at the top when he's not, that says to me it was a completely brainless decision that they gave no thought or opportunity to make a winner of.

Thing is, BJ Watling actually isn't a boring bloke - he's a ripper. But geez, give us a spell about the process

I enjoyed commentary today, for about last hour I was grinning while watching.

Good chemistry, with balance of humour and anecdotes.
The Raval error in front of Watling was something you can't script but was very enjoyable.

Yeah, I agree. Was solid stuff.

I wonder if perhaps the state of the game - batters struggling, boundaries quite rare - lent itself more to the sort of commentary you're talking about.

A 'normal' T20 is possibly quite hard to commentate on. Exciting cricket events interrupt the more interesting stories and it's hard to keep increasing the level of enthusiasm every time there's a big hit. You'd end up going full Danny Morrison.

I watch a lot of baseball and a home run is quite rare, so it stands out as something worth getting fizzed up about. Likewise with a goal in football or a try in rugby. Quite hard to get the balance and tone right in cricket, I guess.

I just remembered, after it was mentioned on air, he was impressive in the last Black Clash for team rugby. NZC should throw opportunity at this kid because he could be the real deal
And naturally he's been picked for team rugby again.
