I think David has been in hospital, I believe he was running and fell down an embankment or something and snapped his leg.

Early trouble for the Scorpions when the Sea Eagles crossed in the 2nd minute through Chad Randell, after a Ben Kennedy managed to bust through the combined efforts of Kyle Wright and Matt Currie before offloading to the try scorer. Then, 5th minute, 9m out, Stephen Burke showed extreme carelessness as he rung Michael Monaghan around the neck, being penalised and put on report for a careless high tackle. Witt took the easy 2 points on offer, and the Sea Eagles were up 8-0, against a Scorpion side that had been untouchable in previous weeks. Tempers boiled over when 5/8 Kyle Wright was incredulously sinbinned for being offside. 37th minute and the Sea Eagles had scored again, this time through Steve Menzies. The score was 12-0 at halftime, and the Scorpions were completely out of it!

50th minute and David Kearsley hadn't helped matters by geting himself sent off for a high shot, also placed on report. Despite being one man down, the Scorpions managed to cross for the first time when the elusive Nayak touched down to make it 12-6 after the successful conversion. Whatever inspirational speech captain Nathan Hoy delivered at halftime, it seemed to be working, as the Scorpions crossed again after an inside ball from Dobson onto a flying Matt Currie broke the line, before linking with johnny-on-the-spot Dave Richards to score. The missed conversion from Dobson proved crucial however, as that was the last score of the day. Scorpions go down, 12-10.
