Cricketer Of The Year
More news out today that Awen Guttenbeil is also off to UTC at the end of the season & that Monty Betham will end his career next year and take up an off-field job with the Warriors.

Bizarre stuff really..although Guttenbeil has played poorly for the last 2 years & Betham just can't keep himself away from the judiciary.

Looks like the Warriors are set to bring in not 1 but 2 big-names next season.

so how bout those broncos eh? continue to show why they are the premiership favourites, Thorn, Webcke, Stagg, Berrigan, Costigan, Lockyer, Seymour, Hodges, Civoniceva, all simply outstanding tonight...

Yeah they are the form side.. it's just 20 or so weeks too early.

we have no weaknesses though, we have class players in every position and even have depth everywhere. We have the best crop of young players in the NRL and are the only side that is actually consistent.
I dont think its a case of peaking too early, because teams like bulldogs, roosters and penrith are in danager of missing the 8 all together if they dont lift their game...

Yes but the broncos are not invincible.. I admit they are the favourites at this stage and are playing awesome but that doesn't mean they won't have a lean trot.

Manly have been just as consistant as the Broncos

manly havent proven themselves though, they are great at brookvale, but away from it they arent so good. I think they will finish 8th still anyway...
my top 8 predictions at this stage are
1 Broncos
2 Cowboys
3 Storm
4 Sharks
5 Roosters
6 Panthers
7 Bulldogs
8 Manly
with Canberra just outside by a point or 2

I am not sure about the panthers.. I think the Eels might get in there.

IMO the storm won't finish that high up and neither will the Sharks but I still think they will be in the 8.

Manly might not make it either.. I am not convinced yet.

The sides you think won't make the 8 are - The Eels, Warriors, Tigers, Dragons, Raiders, Knights and Souths.

I think the first 5 are all still a chance of making the 8.

All the more better to be there.

I was 8 rows back behind the posts where the Broncos scored all those tries in the first half. I have even more respect for Webke after seeing the action up that close. Everytime he hits the wall of defenders there is that crushing sound of flesh on flesh, nowonder his body takes a pounding. Yet, it is the 78th minute and he hits it up like it is his first of the night.

I'm not convinced the Bulldogs will make it into the 8. No Mason or O'Meley for most of the season, that's a lot of go forward they will be without. Not too convinced on the Roosters or the Panthers yet, although I think the Panthers have the best chance of those two to make it. Canberra are going to struggle without Schifcofske for the next month and a half, but if they can get 2 or 3 wins in that period they won't be in as bad of a position. Eels and Dragons will be big chances of making the 8.

3 teams cannot fit into one spot on the table. C'mon, make a decision man!

The broncos have the best players every year but never get past the top 8. plus they lost against the warriors.
So how can they be classed as the best players?

Why Matt King why? I mean, maybe a trim, but to cut it all off :-O
He's had it shorn for about 4 weeks now. Less wind resistance! ;)

Mind you, didn't help him today. Good win for Cronulla.
