Hunt would have been picked but he doesn't want to play for us. That is fine, either they play because want to be there or not. Not any half-hearted efforts and playing just for the sake of it.

And as for Ridge, perhaps one of the best goal kickers I have ever seen. Halligan (crap commentator IMO) and El Mazri rank up there as well.

In rugby Jonny Wilkinson would be in the top 3.

You don't need any sort of heritage or whatever to become a kiwi league player these days. The players they have to select from are so poor all you have to do is say you like New Zealand and you'll get offered a place in the New Zealand squad.

When can you name me a time in the last 10 years that the 2 grand final teams have had any less then 5 players in the Aussie squad?? Prince was only selected coz he won the CC Medal... If he didnt win that then no tigers would have been picked... The joke of the system is that club coaches are in control of Rep sides and their players always get preferential treatment..

And For anyone who says Skando is a average 1st grader. everytime a challenge has been thrown at this guy he has stood up and he deserves a shot... But oh no they go with powder puff Ryles...

yeh brisbane got so many players picked, 3, we came third and got 3 players, how dare the selectors pick that many.
Tigers best players are mainly Kiwi's anyway, the only tiger that should consider himself somewhat unlucky to not be there is hodgson and even he would struggle for a game if picked...

if you honestly think any tigers deserved to get picked on their performances, not just in the last 3 months you have problems...
If we gave out jersey's on form purely there'd be 10-12 new players in the team every year, it just doesnt work that way...

they take form into account over more than 12 weeks of footy, i assure u if players like Skandarlis, Hodgson, help me out i cant think of anyone else remotely close to a rep jumper, are playing as well next year as they did in the past few months they will make rep sides...
look at someone like Luke O'Donnell, outstanding for a few years and just kept missing out on rep teams, hes raised his game just a bit and hes picked, it takes more than a 12 weeks of good games to play for australia...

Bowen adds something completely different to Hodgo, Bowen came off the bench and played dummy half most of the time and was also there incase a back got injured, Hodgo would only be there as the reserve fullback and thats it...

I never knew Covell and Webster were available for New Zealand. In fact I never knew they had New Zealand origins.

Glenn Turner was a surprise, he's a decent player - does the job but never would have considered him for any rep footy, and Greg Eastwood? Hasn't he played just one or two NRL games?

Considering they picked forty players, Turner was not a suprise at all.

Eastwood may have only played a handful of first grade games, but Jeremy Smith, Peter Lewis and Marcus Perenara havent even cracked first grade yet. Peter Lewis isnt that young, either...

Skando has been the best prop forward on the field in the last 2 city country games, and in fact won MOM 2 years back coming off the bench, he has always been close and this year had his best year ever and got nothing... Hodgo is always consistent and with the lack of quality wings why was Minni not shifted to Wing so Hodgo could go to Fullback??

The Tigers aren't made up of a team of stars. Yes there's Prince and Marshall, but apart from that the rest are just good solid first graders not internationals. The same can be said of Parramatta, who only really have 3 or 4 quality players with the rest good quality first graders. Whereas a team like the Dragons, Roosters, Bulldogs and Broncos who hog the market with quality players are always going to get more rep players. It used to be a fact that they would also win premierships, but we're seeing now with increased professionalism and the salary cap that a team that is $400,000 under the salary cap and has a solid football team can win a premiership, that doesn't mean they should stock the international side with those players.

I'd like to know which players should be dropped for any of the Tigers or Cowboys players, with the exception of Creigh.

Agreed. And unless there's some sort of loyalty from the players there will no longer be any dynasties. I think loyalty is the only reason Brisbane has made the finals for the last decade.

Probably not. I think Barrett and Lockyer are ahead of him. Plus, Prince can play 5/8th as well.

also if he was australian he'd definately be missing the series cause of shoulder surgery, it wouldnt be that desperate that he plays like it is for NZ...
