something like 44 or 45 games by University back in the twenties and thirties. i believe they went through 2 and a half seasons without winning a game...

In the NRL prog we get over here Chris Warren (presenter) mentioned something about 14 being some kinda losing streak record. May be just since the start of the NRL I guess.

I think it is from the start of the season. Souths have been bad, but they usually get 1 or 2 wins in the first 10 rounds.

wests in 99 won only 3 matches and 2 of those were in the first 7 weeks, so there would have been a fairly long losing streak in there...

Preston Campbell singed with the Cold Coast for 3 years last night. And it looks likely that Luke Bailey will be on the coast aswell after he completes one more season with the Dragons (Bailey & Campbell have the same manager). Certainly two good signings for the Coast team, and may lead other players to sign aswell. McGuire only signed a one year deal with Brisbane and it seems like he might be a chance on the Coast aswell.

Story here.

Actually the paper might have got it wrong - NRL.com says that McGuire re-signed for 2 seasons. Broncos have re-signed 3 players Carroll :@ & Thaiday re-signed for 3 years & Costigan re-signed for 2. Berrigan yet to re-sign, which is worrying. Cullen also trying to keep Brett Seymour for longer he has an option to get out after 2006.

we have to keep Seymour and Berrigan. imo along with Thaiday they are our long term stars. These guys will be the core of the side for years to come and we have to sign them up NOW!

Yeah, I agree. IMO Carroll is far too over-rated by the Broncos, especially Bennett. He hardly plays a game these days with his continual injuries. Give him a 1 year deal - fine, but 3 years is a joke, that money should be left for the others.

carroll is lockyer's guard, but i agree hes not worthy of anything more than a 1 year deal. there was talk he was going to the coast. interesting situation...

Yeah, he is Lockyer's guard, but if he's not playing - what use is he? I think Stagg or Costigan could fill that role in the coming years anyway. There was talk of the Broncos getting Ashley Harrison back, I doubt with Carroll signing for 3 years, he will come back. With Anasta & Orford likely to be at Souths next year he may sign a one year deal to see how things go then stay or head to the Coast.

Well Berrigan is 27 so he is obviously looking at a change of sceneary or at least considering one.

id be surprised if he left. hes scored 17 tries in what 12 games this year. he'd be looking for premierships first and theres every chance he could win a couple in his next contract with brisbane...

Yeah, Berrigan may not be a Bronco for life, but I'd say he will be one for a few more years yet.

Kiwis centre/wing Jamaal Lolesi is looking at a one-year deal with Hull and has the intention of signing with the new Gold Coast club for its entry into the competition in 2007. Penrith's Preston Campbell was wheeled out as first signing on Wednesday
lol, the NZ herald must have been reading here when I suggested that Lolesi would possibly go to Hull for a season and then go to the Gold Coast team.
Kinda freaky...
