It is better than having no quality players like they have atm. At least with 2 or 3 quality halves they are at least more likely to attract some bigger name players than if they didn't.

yeah in the paper it said Orford wouldn't go unless Anasta did. and with those 2 they could certainly get a couple more better players.

Ohwah, that's dangerous talk, sounds like a certain club has been breaching the salary cap restrictions.

I doubt considering how far under the salary cap they were meant to be last year.

I'm not sure who Melbourne have as back up to Orford, but with Berrick Barnes off contract and Craig Bellamy the ex-Broncos assistant coach, he could be a chance.

Cameron Smith started his career at halfback, also Ryan Hoffman(sp) can play hooker. Also i doubt Williams will want to stay at the Souths to play reserve grade.

He has to if he's contract is for longer than this year, or unless Souths release him, which is unlikely because they paid big money for him.

i hear Barnes ould be going to the Brumbies. but i was under the impression hes shut the door on Yawnion for now. Barnes will probably be brisbanes hooker next year if he stays.
It looks pretty unlikely Orford will stay with the storm. On sports Tonight last night they said the best offer is on the table and apparently that is a LONG way short of what Souths will offer on July 1st.

Smith is not a halfback now and Hoffman is certainly no hooker. Cooper Cronk will probably play halfback. remember they still have scott hill who is a natural first reciever anyway.

Smith might not be a halfback now but that were he started at the Storm and he played their before when Orford been injured. Also Hoffman played at hooker when Smith was out for the first orgin, but they have Nathan Friend their this week and Hoffman on the bench still.

Well Micheal Witt was on a long term contract for the Eels before they released him, so i say the same thing could happen to Williams if they buy Orford and Anasta.

Thats unbelievable by Souths. They've looked rubbish this season, but to come out & thump Manly is a huge shock.

Depends who you are. Souths usually come out and have a big win sometime in the season. You just have to be smart enough to tip it. It will be a struggle for Manly now, for most of the season none of the teams have been looking at them as genuine title contenders, but now that they have proven they deserve their place on the ladder teams are after them. It will test their ability to see if they can fight back and stay in the 8. They won't want anymore night games...I can assure you of that!

interesting weekend, broncos 9 wins in a row, and ive still got a cold, but it will pass. was a pretty poor crowd at canberra, even given the rain i thought there should have been more than 8.5k

I'd say the weather had something to do with that.

They aren't winning anymore, they've slipped out of the 8 for the first time this season.
