Australia win thriller on minefield

The changes to the Australian Team brought a remarkable change in result, as Australia used the conditions to their advantage to seal victory by a solitary run.

The pitch however was the main story, as deliveries jumped from everywhere and runs, let alone quick runs, were nigh impossible. Australia kept the ball wide of off from the start, as Andrew Strauss and Marcus Trescothick could hardly lay bat on ball, or even be dismissed in the search of quick runs.

The equation came down to ten runs off the last Nathan Patrick over, of which Andrew Flintoff could only score eight.

The Australian Team embraced their captain, celebrating a fantastic, if not slightly bizarre, victory.

Coach's Call -
"Yessssssssssss! Take that Pietersen! Amazing bowling, particularly from Marks and Gelman. What a win. Can we take the series?!"

Flintoff, Vaughan bring England to 1-1

In another low scoring encounter, England this time rose to the challenge, getting home by four wickets. After keeping Australia to just 194, Michael Vaughan anchored the English chase, as Kevin Gough on debut leaked runs in a match he'd rather forget.

Coach's Call -
"Just not our day really. The top three will have to change, and I feel for poor Gough. There's still a game to come though. Yea boyyyyyyyyyyy!"

Third One Day International
England vs Australia

Australian XI -
Neil Pickup (wk)
Nick Scott (ODI Debut)
John Heads
Greg Thomas
Jake McDonald
Mat Mitchell
Kyle Wright
Higgy Marks
Nathan Patrick (capt)
Kieran Horton

Coach's Call -
The talented Scott comes into the side to strengthen our top order. Wright goes down to seven where he did so well in the Tri Series. Big game guys, best of luck. Get Pietersen out early plz.

Mehh at the general closeness of the results, not a million miles away from winning everything.

England cruise to series win

There was nothing Australia could do to stop England romping to a ten-wicket victory in the series deciding International. Australia's opening win seemed a distant memory as the top order failed once more and the bowling effort bore no fruit.

Coach's Call -
Haha, got nothing. Someone make some runs.

Patrick seems to be going backwards.

If anyone wants to contribute to anything, feel free. This team is a lot more about you than it is about me, so please chime in. I know Tozz, Jakester, Smith and Borcich have helped a brother out, with varying results. :p

Houston...

Okay, so when ICC told me to select 15 players for 'the One Day Series', it meant 'the One Day Series and, oh, The Freaking Ashes'. Pretty sure, anyhow.

Let's find out together.

Brilliant.

The above post that is.

Results have not been quite so good. I've been disappointed by my own wicket haul - certainly was hoping to take a few more in those games than I managed. Still, onwards and upwards.

It's basically a chance to find out, if the scheduling/squad issue is the case, who will make the last Test Match places that are available. This match stands to be a vital point in some player's careers.

International Regular
Happy to be number 1, consistent runs are flowing from the bat and keeping us in a lot of matches.

Also, if you are going to bowl me, you should wait until after at least 15-20 overs and all the frontline paceman have had a bowl first.

Australia solid enough in victory

Enough positive signs have been shown by an understrength Australian Team in this friendly encounter. Plenty of the bowlers showed some form, Pickup won the battle of the wicket-keepers and John Heads was superb in his innings of 175.

Coach's Call -
Heads, WAG. But seriously, I don't want this squad for The Ashes.
