A magnificent Bangladesh, who were behind for almost the entire match, came through to take an incredible victory against Australia. Australia, who's batting line-up has been much criticised of late, fired and fired well. Neil Pickup was sensational on debut, making 75. Greg Thomas then went on with things before cruely being dismissed four runs off a maiden century. When Mat Mitchell and Kyle Wright finished off the innings, no-one thought the target of 291 could possibly be reached, until captain Nathan Patrick spoke the words -
Even as Bangladesh slipped to 207/6, nothing can change the outcome of a cricket game when someone utters those words. And so it was that Tushar Imran and Mohammed Rafique put on an 87-run partnership off just 65 balls.
Australia now must look towards The Ashes Test Series against England, while Bangladesh live on to dream even bigger.
