New ICC Test Rankings

One thing that surprises me about some Indian fans is that the way they keep reminding the Australian members on this forum of October. They are acting as if they know the result of the series already.

They must not forget that this Australian team is stronger, they have more experience in Batting on spinning tracks, IMHO they have a better captain and mentally they are tougher than ever. Not to forget this time we are going to have International Umpires as well. I would love it if our team beats australia in the series but I am not sure how can some of us be so sure esp when our bowling is so weak.

To be honest i dont think England will stay there for long
Au Contraire, I think we are the second best team now - and I see us giving those Aussies a run for their money in 12 months time.

australia is the best and s.a and england are the 2nd and 3rd best teams on recent form.....india should be 4th on current form with s.l and pakistan following them....

Don't know if SA have ever been below number two...Maybe after re-admission.. But I was too young to follow SA cricket much.. Ive certainly only remembered us being a distant second behind the old enemy :(
I think our drop in ranking is not due to much, but Englands resurgence as a dominant force in the Caribbean, and of course the drubbing of NZ at home, and credit too them...

Somehow I don't think you're a better side at this stage than South Africa regardless of the official rankings.
Don't get carried away by England's recent wins over a weak West Indies and an understrength NZ.

The true test of how well England have progressed will come when they tour South Africa.

I don't agree with that - I think they might be. 50/50 for me.

But I definitely agree with that.

No matter how you look at it, England are doing wonderfully at the moment, and you can't fault them for poor opposition, you can only rate them on their own personal games, and they're playing well. However, as stated, they haven't really been tested just yet.

Big deal -
Draw or beat them AWAY from home and then you can talk the talk.
I'll think you'll find Swervy's team won 3-0 in SA last itme they played.

And if that's the example, I feel India's rating may be flattering to them, when was the last time they beat anyone not in Asia?

atleast we dont loose at home .the good thing for Eng is that they will never loose point when they are playing Aus or SA as they have poor record aganist them.
