I played a few Test Matches over the years but with no great success.

After I finished playing test cricket I did achieve a first class record but that was for my batting.

Who am I?
Q1. Test debut pre WW2 ?
Q2. Player from England or Australia ?
Q3. Played Tests as a batsman ??
Q4. Played more than ten Tests ?

Ah tricky one that - I really should seek counsel's opinion on how to answer .

Yes on a literal interpretation

but taking account of the mischief rule probably no is a better answer

I fear I may be setting myself up for a searching cross-examination here

bloody lawyers - always ask difficult questions don't they?

Played for England?

Played most of his cricket for a county other than Yorks, Notts or Swampshire but played a bit for one of them?

OK I think the best I can say is he has never played a first class game for any county nor a list A game for any county against another county but he has had a link with one of the counties you mention
