But the person who adjudicates in a sport was called peerless (or umpire) because the others (contestants) were each others equals while he was above them and was peerless on the field.

I suppose they did not think we will eventually have a second and a third umpire besides a match referee :p
oh it makes sense alright, just wouldn't have thought in that direction..
so what would a match referee be, i wonder??

Refree comes straight from refer

The cricket umpire's position is unique in all sports since he is really running a court (sort of). He has to be appealed to for justice ! If you dont appeal to him, he maintains his silence (in the all important out/not out decisions).

In all other sports, the refree gives the decision without having to be asked.

Q 1 Is he a spinner ? Yes.

Victor there's a limit of 20 questions. You will get hints at end of Q 10 and Q15. Blind guesses are allowed, but will usually cost 2 questions (these are SJS's rules). :)

Victor, you have to ask questions which can be answered by YES or NO or IRRELEVANT and within 20 such questions you try to narrow down the options and arrive at the answer.
