New Cricket Trivia - 'SJS format'

Tapioca

State Vice-Captain
Player 3 (the ODI only fellow)'s only ODIs were in a World Cup. Very undistinguished record and if he is remembered at all now, it is for his another cricketing connection.

The connection is a specific non-cricketing incident that each person was involved with. This happened for them, respectively, in the 1930s, 1950s, 1970s and early 2000s. For all except Player 3, it happened outside the country they played for. (okay, these may not help directly in solving the question but should help in filtering out the possibilities).

Is the Aust player McDonald and if yes is it 'killed in a road accident', that would give us Cammie Smith and the young Holliake lad

Well done, archie. Collie not Cammie. The complete list is

1. Ted Mcdonald : Was involved in a car collision but escaped unhurt. While he was standing near the wreck, he was run over by another car.

2. Collie Smith : The car driven by Sobers slid off the road and hit a tree

3. Donald Pringle : a car crash in Nairobi

4. Ben Hollioake

The others are George Street (motor cycle accident), Jack Iddon and Keki Tarapore (hit by a scooter).

Welcome back, Jason :)
