I'm going to go for England and West Indies because a teenager has never made a [Test] century for these countries?
Corrrect.

The teenage players who have made a test century:

Pakistan: Miandad x 2, Malik x 2, Mustaq Moh'd x 2, Afridi, Imran Nazir, Moh'd Ilyas, Moh'd Wasim.
Australia: Harvey x 2, Walters & Jackson
Sri Lanka: Gurusinha & De Silva
Bangladesh: Ashraful, Iqbal
India: Tendukar x 5
New Zealand: Vivian
Zimbabwe: Masakadza
South Africa: G. Pollock

For England, Dennis Compton was close (was 20 yrs 18 days) while George Headley was WI's youngest century maker at 20 yrs 226 days

No need to have added [Test] to my answer as we'd already established that it was a Test feat.

Anyway here's a quickie.
What was unusual about Richard Illingworth's contribution to the 1991 England v West Indies series?

Great all-round effort averaging 53.25 and 15.50, oh wait stats are wrong way round

Serious question though: Was it to do with his father being a selector at the time?

No. I've never heard that any of the selectors were his father.

I thought Ray Illingworth was his father or uncle or something? Quick check of crincfo says no he wasn't :shy:

Edit: I think I was confusing this with Alec Stewart who came into the team when his Dad was England Manager

Is it that he took a wkt with his first ball in test cricket?

No - that's not what makes his contribution unusual, but the fact that he took a wicket with that delivery is part of the answer.

Is it that all of his wkts in that series were bowled?

I think a huge clue is required.
If God ordained that his first ball should take a wicket, what would the devil do to even up the score?
