Has it got to do with Jones being born in Papua New Guinea and raised in Oz till he was 22 and only been in England few years ?

Question
"Save .......... , hang ........ " were the words on a placard (names of 2 cricketers) held at a Test Match in the 50s at Bridgetown, Barbados !! This was in reference to a cricketer who was to be hanged !
But why the reference to the second cricketer ? Who are the cricketers named and why ?

Let the questions begin !

Hylton was the one whom was hung. Was it Gary Sobers for a poor dec. against England?

This question is bizzare, the how did they break the rule bit stumps me ..........as it indicates they did not break it in a normal way.

Just to clarify, by a rule, I DO NOT mean a law of cricket.

Eg. If 9 of the players surnames began with A and then 2 other players surnames began with G they would be breaking a general rule for the team.

I was thinking of Hutton or Trueman - both did not make too many friends. There was controversial runout incident in that series, but it was at Georgetown.
