Neil Wagner 5 wickets in 6 balls

To be honest Andy Mckay is a 140+ bowler. Neil Wagner can probably hover around the 135-144 region. He does have pace but not like a Bond/Lee.

McKay is 140 for sure.

Bowls usually from 138-143 and has been looking a bit more spritely as of late.

*** the other day wangner took 5 wickets in one over, the covage was caught on a mobile phone camera so quailty was terrible. I have written many times to NZ TV asking them to have a show dedicated to nz domestic cricket. They all run down there to interview the guy, if only one channel had dedicated time to this comp. the crowds would have been there instead of 3 people...

but they just continue to fight over rugby... while domestic cricket dies a slow death.

You wouldn't? I would.
Would you consider Tim Southee a 140+ bowler? He's basically the same as McKay, late 130's with the abiltiy to push into the early 140's.

140+ is constantly bowling quicker the 140K for good periods of time imo, not just cracking the mark once an over for example.

Nah, it was a proper video camera. The coaching staff hook them up on the side of sightscreen for video analysis at the end of the days play. It's a real shame the provinces don't upload a few highlights from there after each game imo.

I'd say McKay is a bit faster than Southee tbh.
Of course he is, that wasn't my point. There are a number of fast bowlers around the world who like McKay (and Southee was just an example) bowl in the late 130's and have the ability to push it through into the early 140's, that doesn't make them 140+ bowlers though. Rampaul's another example, as is Hilfenhaus. They'll hit 140K quite often but you don't see people labelling them 140+ bowlers.

Well they're hardly going to be using $10,000 cameras with full time operators on either side of the park.

Not sure why Wagner's pace matters tbh. I know the media and talkback are obsessed with pace and anyone who takes a few domestic wickets is automatically 140kph, but if Wagner can swing the ball at 135kph with accuracy then he will be fine in international cricket.

Him doing the above at pace would just be an added bonus.

Yeah, but Southee only occasionally breaks the 140 mark because he has generally been unfit. In the next couple of years don't be surprised if he gains a couple of ks. The useful thing about Wagner is that he swings the ball and he is a left arm bowler which adds variety to our attack.

BTW, anyone know of any legit fast bowlers in the 17-19 age range? I know Adam Milne is fast but dear i say it, injuries will be a big problem in that guys career.

I really like McKay, would gladly take him for India based on what I saw of him in the Nagpur Test last year. Think he deserves a good run in Tests. Wagner's also a left-armer?

I thought this deserved it's own thread because it's something that has never been recorded to have been done before.

Neil Wagner took 5 wickets in 6 balls including a double hattrick. First 4 balls of the over and then the final delivery. It included a hattrick of "bowled" dismissals. Not sure how rare that is though.

Amazing feat and he'll be in the New Zealand side soon. So watch out! Him and Bennett opening the bowling will destroy sides.
any video link of that match? I m eager to see his bowling action and the way he turns the ball.
