personally have Lillee higherI rate Wasim and Lillee at 8 and 9 respectively as pacers (counting Barnes). And I'm pretty certain that the CW consensus aligns with this notion.

Lillee and Wasim are interesting to compare with contradicting advantages and both super high in peer rating.personally have Lillee higher
Still it's close right?personally have Lillee higher
Both of their peer rating is astronomically high.Lillee and Wasim are interesting to compare with contradicting advantages and both super high in peer rating.
Literally 3 batsmen who were the best if their respective eras, and Lloyd who has a close to an ATG end to his career.Despite Lillee being one of the more "dominated at home" ATG pacer. Richards (x2), Sobers, Lloyd et all.
GavaskarI would say he held off less his own than most other Top tier pacers. Atleast those 4 got the better of him, as did Pollock ahead 40. The only Great he really troubled was probably Miandad, but his overall Pakistani record wasn't even much good at home.
Good job adding Botham there.Dennis Lillee, Ian Botham and Fred Trueman are two of the most underrated players on this site
hehGood job adding Botham there.
What about a batting deck?Thos is a pretty silly comparison without knowing pitch conditions.
On a green deck - Lillee
On a dusty spin deck - Murali
On a perfect pitch equal for pace and spin - Lillee
So Lillee wins
Bro we already ran an entire list of ex players rating Wasim to the sky. Both of their peer rating is astronomically high.
Here's one of Wasim's contemporaries saying how good he was.
Nah thought it was a bit funny.Bro we already ran an entire list of ex players rating Wasim to the sky.
Oh yeah, 3 matches in which he got him legally OnceGavaskar![]()
Also, Lillee got him twice. The first one was fair, but the dismissal in that 70 had a comically large inner edge given lbw. It was the dismissal following which Sunny famously Walk Out with Chauhan.Sunny faced Lillee in just 3 Tests. He did score a 70 in the third test and helped India win a test against a full strength Australia team at Melbourne.
Why is it silly if he had a series against him and didn't?It’s silly to think he would not have done well against Lillee.
One of the more pathetic sights on the cricket field. Also, Lillee got him twice. The first one was fair, but the dismissal in that 70 had a comically large inner edge given lbw. It was the dismissal following which Sunny famously Walk Out with Chauhan.
Nah. I don't really have any strong feelings about that Walk Off. Aussie cheating umpires don't get talked enough compared to Pakistan. They did worse consistently to Sachin and Lara as well. One of the more pathetic sights on the cricket field.
At least Javed wanted to smack Lillee not run away.
Thos is a pretty silly comparison without knowing pitch conditions.
On a green deck - Lillee
On a dusty spin deck - Murali
On a perfect pitch equal for pace and spin - Lillee
On a asian pitch-murali
So Murali wins
Because Lillee was unproven in Asia.
