Sachin. For obvious reasons. You can't compare his fan base to any other sports person quite frankly, with the exception of international football (soccer ) players and also someone like Michael Jordan.

It changes with time. Since the 90’s its been whoever’s most popular in India at the time.

But yeah, its Sachin, because India, plus recency compared to these other two. I wouldn’t even necessarily put them as the others in the top 3.

Warne, Kohli, Bumrah, perhaps even Dhoni could be considered contenders.

Almost everyone that happened to read cricket history has been due to Bradman imho. Idk Sachin or anyone ever matching that. Would Sachin or anyone have the same reputation that Bradman did in his really old age or after decades of passing?

That’s not true. Most people who watch cricket seriously know of Bradman. Most people who have just heard of cricket have probably heard of Tendulkar more likely than any other player

Frankly even Warne and Imran were more globally popular than Viv and Bradman. They transcended their sport.

Outside of cricketing circles hardly. Imo, he's not on the same level globally as the Messis, Jordan's etc.
If you follow the sport you will know Sachin. But that applies to any sportsperson. Forget Jordan, many of my relatives(age>50) have no idea who is Messi

Kohli probably tops Tendulkar already, if we are using that logic.

Warne and Imran were more popular than Bradman and Viv?? They didn’t transcend their sport like Bradman. Neither of those two were held anything like Bradman in any cricketing nation or Viv too.

Kohli is a global super star yes. I don't think he is more popular than Sachin though.

Yes Warne and Imran had the paparazzi on them because they were superstars not just for cricket but their global image. They were part of a jetset. You could ask your average Brit and they likely would have heard of Imran and Warne than Viv.

Bradman is very much a cricket audience person.

On the other hand, anyone who watches football/soccer knows who Messi is and the following for football is much greater than cricket. And with MJ it's no contest, the guy is huge in Asia, Africa the Americas everywhere even though Basketball isn't as followed.
