Australians ki jali re jali. Good times. Like SA now we will never lose in Australia. Next batch of Indian players is even better as will be the batch after that.

These Indian fans have such big chips on their shoulders it's surprising that their arms are still attached and they can type.
Most of the time it's in response to TJB claiming that Smith/Warner/tosses would have altered the series result. Whatever.

You say that as if it's questionable
Just like Bhuvi/tosses would alter the results in England. You get what you get. That's life. Australia have certain got a lot in Ind/Aus encounters as much as they deny - Nagpur greentop, Chennai rain, Sydney bucknor, mid 1980s series rain (which we should have won) etc.

Expect better of you OS
No you don't.

And really, Ponting even at his peak would've struggled in India. He played decently in 2008 and 2010 when the pitches were way less conducive to spin but 2004 had some punishing conditions. His hard hands and big front foot thrust with bat and pad together would've got him in trouble in that series no matter what form he was in.

Nah, he did fine on spinning wickets in Sri Lanka in 2004, against Murali no less. 2004 India wouldn't have been an issue for him. 2008 he was well on the decline, 2010 even more a shadow of himself. 2001 he wasn't even half the player he became. This is why Ponting's stats in India are largely irrelevant to almost any discussion on the topic.

It's quite funny that Ponting's peak (2002-2007) coincided with never playing Tests in India. Coincidence . . .?

He averaged 33 in sl in 2004 when supposedly at his peak. I don't think this helps your case.

The only series he did well in was back in 99. The guy had glaring flaws against spin for subcontinent conditions. It's not really a question of just the stats which can sometimes be misleading. He just sucked at the things you needed to do well as a batsman in Asia. Just like KL Rahul in Australia.

There was no Nagpur green top. That pitch was brown and sprays of dirt were coming off it on the first day.

I have yet to this addressed.

It was a pitch with loads of bounce, decent pace and more than enough sideways movement (ie) ideal for Mcgrath and Gillespie and pretty much as close to home conditions for them as possible for an Asian pitch.

≠ a greentop. There was enough spin there and plenty of dirt visible, the pace and bounce would have had more to do with the way it was rolled and watered. The fastest pitches like Perth in the seventies and Sabina Park from the sixties to the nineties had practically no grass at all.

On a side note Ganguly chickening out of that test was one of the funniest things I've seen. Sent poor dravid to the gallows.

Just semantics tbh. Whether it was a 'greentop' in the strictest sense or not is irrelevant. Point was, it was heavily in favor of Australia. Bit like how Southampton was in favor of India this year. Difference being India didn't take advantage.

Indian cricket fans that I come across (online) really are the worst. Add in that a number of the Indian cricket team behave like spoilt children when they take a wicket or score a hundy - I quietly revel when the Indian cricket team get beat or Kohli misses out.

Reddit.com/r/cricket is full of Indian cricket fans jizzing over each other.

Indeed. It’s why I’m always thankful for Sydney 08, because it was the first time I really got a taste of what a pack of brain dead ****wits a lot of Indian supporters are. Before that matxh they were one of my favourite sides and I’d often want them to win against England, NZ, SA etc. since that match and the ridiculous response to it though, I’d support the Ebola XI vs the Indian National Victim Conplex XI.

Ffs they lost nine wickets after lunch on day five, three of them in the last over to Michael ****ing Clarke. Spare us this bullshit.
