Medium-pacers

lol.. stop being pedantic :)
In my book, anybody who isnt a spin bowler and does not bowl fast, is probably a medium pacer :)

But not 3 medium-pacers in the same team. That was a problem with almost all Indian and some English and NZ (especially after the npower series) bowling attacks. Prabhakar was hammered out of international cricket by Sanath and Kalu, which limits the utility of medium-pacers.
I have never claimed any of the above. I said Medium pacers with some swing and accurace add some variety to the attack. Obviously a team with 2 medium pacers is no good because there is no variety. I would prefer 2 pace(One left arm ) bowlers, 1 MP and once spinner.

As for Prabhakar Hammered out of International attack by Sanath, I dont think think that is a fair statement, Yes that was his last game before, he was hit for about 50 runs in 4-5 overs after that he was dropped and then retired . But we cant call it as 'He was hammered out', In that case Even kapil was hammered out by WI openers. Waqar was hammered out by Sachin & Sehwag.

Larsen was around 125 km's.. he's probably the most accurate bowler i've ever seen.

While Larsen was slower than McGrath & Ambrose by a considerable margin, he never bowled more than 4 or 5 loose balls in his 10 overs of bowling (as he always bowled his full 10)

An economy rate of 3.76 over 121 ODI's is quite impressive.
And I'd say in his last 2 years that RPO was bumped up quite a bit as age caught up with him & batsmen found him easier to score off.

ahh yes he bowled a couple overs of off breaks during that match to try and save the humiliation......

Razzaq is (or maybe he isn't any more) a bit quicker than basic medium. He's about medium-fast to fast-medium.
isnt anymore.....he was quite a decent bowler when he first burst onto the scene and who will ever forget the way he destroyed the Sri lankans chasing 194 to create a tied game......100 odd for 1 at one stage i believe

nowadays if a medium-pacer cant bat (harvey i guess) they wont b picked (at least at international level).

Too difficult to hit around, I guess... That's why many find Harris annyonig- too slow for them to hit, so they would have to hit really hard.

I don't want Oram to me an accurate medium-pacer in Tests, I want to increase his speed to around Flintoff (135+) and actually be a strike weapon.

v. important

it is crucial to have meduim pacers becuase many fast bowlers bowl all aover the place whereas meduim pacers are renound for line and length. just look at pollock and mgrath. bowling a good line and legth puts batsmen under pressure becuase the bowler doesnt bowl many bad balls which puts pressure on the batsmen to score off good ball which will lead to mistakes and as mcgath has shown u get wickets!
