Ali Lives Up To Hype
When the Lahore squad was established during the off season 26 year old Pakistani batsman Ali was the most sort after talent on the Lahore squad, and just 3 weeks into the season it seams Hoy's reluctance to trade him before the season looks a great decision for the future of the fledgling outfit. Playing their first ever WCC home game, Lahore was keen to continue their good OD form with a second up victory against the also undefeated Chittagong. Some good, tight bowling led by all-rounder Amjad (4/42) restricted the visitors to 265/9 off their 50 overs. In Lahore first home inning the fans that turned out to see the game were treated to a showcase of Ali's talents and promise with the bat during an unbeaten 138 from 147 balls to see Lahore through to victory in the second last over of the innings. First game (OD) man of the match Amjad backed up his good performance with the ball to record an impressive 68 from 58 balls with the bat, as part of the decisive 131 run unbeaten forth wicket partnership.
The win takes Lahore to the top of the OD standings, but the team will be much more intent on turning around a first up loss in the FC arena. Tickets for the FC fixture go on sale today with still in the area of 62,800 tickets available for the game against Chittagong
