That's one of the rules that needs reviewing. Since it was given out on-field, the ball is deemed dead.Bangladesh denied 4 leg byes when the Umpire gave an lbw then on review it was over turned. Surely those runs should have counted rather than a dot ball given on review.
Totally agree, the rules are wrong. Simple solution given on commentary, the Umpire waits till the ball is dead to raise his finger. That's one of the rules that needs reviewing. Since it was given out on-field, the ball is deemed dead.
It was given out so I guess it was dead ball. But overall umpiring has been absolutely poor this game. Two wides that were not given and the ball was clearly sliding down leg when mullah was given out. Hridoy's one was shady too.Bangladesh denied 4 leg byes when the Umpire gave an lbw then on review it was over turned. Surely those runs should have counted rather than a dot ball given on review.
Why was it shady ? It wasnt missingHridoy's one was shady too.
@Shady SlimWhy was it shady ? It wasnt missing
The umpire perfectly measured it with a magnifying glass that half of the ball was clipping the top of leg stump. Gotta give it to him.Why was it shady ? It wasnt missing
Was just coming to this conclusion myself, like how a linesman waits to put his flag up. But it needs sorting because it’s arguably cost Bangladesh the game.Totally agree, the rules are wrong. Simple solution given on commentary, the Umpire waits till the ball is dead to raise his finger.
Yeah this dumb rule is something many people have raised in the recent past, but obviously the ICC will only wait until it affects a WC Final to change it. And even then they might not - the bat deflection rule hasn’t been changed iirc. That's one of the rules that needs reviewing. Since it was given out on-field, the ball is deemed dead.
Feels like a replay of India-Pakistan match
