Ok seriously what the **** is happening with Albert Pujols?

I'm a Cards supporter so kinda enjoying this extended period of rubbishness but it's almost getting ridiculous. I'm well aware that due to me typing this he's likely to hit a grand slam in his next at-bat or something (will have at least one more AB tonight) but even if he does that's still his first homer this season.

Twice previously he's had less than 5 homers in his first 23 games of the season. In 2003 he only had 3, but had a BA of .359, and in 2008 he hit just 4 yet was hitting .377. Presently it's something like .211, to go with 5 RBIs.

Throughout his whole career he's been able to hit for both average and power, and on the odd occasion one has gone missing, the other has usually still been acceptable. Surely his numbers will be decent-ish come the end of the season but it's a heck of a fall from grace for a guy on $240 million.

It's like 100 bucks for the season or something right? I've been thinking about getting it, always kinda liked baseball but it's super hard to follow consistently from here obviously.
Yeah 100 for the standard, 114 for the Premium (which is worth it). I got the MiLB package as well which is an extra 20 bucks, mainly to watch Bryce Harper which is pointless now but it always gives you something to watch and 20 bucks isn't going to change my life.

In terms of performance it's up there with NBAtv in quality, really awesome stuff. I just plug my laptop into my tv with a HDMI cable and use my bluetooth mouse. LML.

Premium is just for your phone and **** isn't it? Or is there something else I'm missing? I might pick up the normal package at least.

Yeah, you get to pick which commentary feed you get which is a life-saver with some of the hugely biased home commentators. But yeah it's probably not neccesary unless you use your phone/tablet to watch games.

So many amazing games today. Weaver with the no-no, Halladay giving up more than 8 runs for the first time since 2009 in a crazy Braves win, Cargo smashing Kershaw for 2 HR's (only the second time a player has put Kershaw away twice in a game). Awesome day of baseballl which makes up for the ****ty day of basketball.

Weaver is a douche but he's awesomeness as a pitcher.

Great storylines from yesterday. You had the Orioles winning over the Red Sox in 17 with the DH, Chris Davis, pitching the last two innings and getting the win (he also went 0-8 at the plate!). Then you had Hamels plunking Bryce Harper and admitting afterwards that he did it on purpose. Lol. Can’t say I blame him, but that will get him a fine/suspension.

And oh yeah, Pujols finally hit a HR. Incidently, Pujols has the same number of home runs as Chris Davis has wins.

Breaking News: Josh Hamilton is good at baseball. 3 HR's tonight so far (with 1 double), 14 total bases, 6 RBI.

Did I say 3 HR's and 14 total bases? Beg your pardon. I meant 4 HR's and 18 total bases (which is the new AL record).

Just the 16th four-homer game in MLB history (in comparison, there have been 21 perfect games in history).

Carlos Beltran obviously looking to replicate Hamilton's work. 2 HRs, 6 RBIs through 3 innings in Phoenix. Pretty handy replacement for Pujols he's turned out to be.

Josh Hamilton is destroying baseball right now.

- 8 homers in last 5 games. 9 in last 6 games!
-One of two players in history to have 18 HRs in his team's first 34 games.
-Batting .405, 18 HRs, 41 RBI. Triple Crown leader.

As locked in as he is, there is an argument to be made that he's having the greatest offensive month in the history of the game.

Ah, the old walk-off grand slam trick huh? So I guess that's why Joey Votto has the longest guaranteed contract in MLB history. Kinda disappointing there seemed to be only a few thousand people there though.

I'm very appreciative of the 30 fantasy points he got me today as well. Nearly makes up for how rubbish almost everyone else in my team is.

Well, my Rangers have played extremely mediocre baseball for the past month. The offense has gone cold, two starting pitchers are on the DL and the rest are inconsistent at best. Even the defense has sucked. The great start we had, combined with the Angel’s slow one, still gives us the biggest division lead in baseball. I still think the team is the most talented in baseball and hopefully this is just an extended rough patch.

In other news, Mike Trout of the Angels is a freaking stud. I think he's a better long term prospect than Bryce Harper. So jealous the Angels drafted him.

They took him in the late first round as well because people were scared that he was just torching the Jersey leagues because the Jersey leagues stink. My favourite part about him is his defence, he's amazing to watch.
