I don't know you from Adam (or Eve, for that matter). Your real name could be Danish, you might have Dane ancestry, have a soft spot for the pastry or you could be "a crazed Danish Kaneria fanatic". So, based on just your username, what is to stop me from assuming either of them. I could assume that you are a crazed Danish Kaneria fan, couldn't I?
If, on the other hand, I do read your posts, I might learn otherwise.
I see your point, useful words of wisdom.

Your initial comment:

You said:
Akmal went through a rich vein of form in...January? When he scored 7 centuries or something stupid of the sort, I'll definately be watching Dhoni in the future though, who won't.
Only then did you expand the time period and lower the century count.

Not arguing with you. Just making sure you know the facts.

It seems that You have really made up your mind on him, you think that he started this thread, when it is a fact that this thread wasn't even started by him. I really dont think DhonionSlaught has said/claimed anything that outrageous (about Dhoni) to deserve that kind of response from you.

Anyways, It is your opinion on him and I guess you are entitled to have one. So no problems.

i wasn't talking about that specific character...i was talking about your generalization that users whose usernames might reflect a strong propensity towards a player/team are ridiculously biased towards that particular player/team...it is not a direct correlation and enough people have listed enough examples here to show that it is not....

if you have actually read his posts before coming to your conclusion instead of just going by his username, i for one don't have any disagreements.....

Okay, fair enough. But I was trying to make a more general point, that you should give people the benefit of the doubt regardless of their usernames.

i was talking about your generalization of

what you consider as silly usernames ---> silly, ridiculously biased posters....

and actually mentioned being in agreement with you if you have actually read his posts...

good gracious...

where's that brick wall emoticon? ah...there it is...:wallbash:

What about Sangrah though, does he fit under your generalisation? Or are you going to ignore that post because it doesn't fit with your view ;)

If I could find out who Sangrah is, then I might try to reply to it... is Sangrah a poster's real name?

No. I adjust my generalisation every 15 minutes.

Double reply to one quote, impressive :p

Anyway I just think your swooping statement that anyone with a name supporting a player/team is biased. What if I had my name as "Steve the pirate" but had Brad Hogg in my avatar and "Brad Hogg is a legend" in my sig. Would I then be unbiased because I don't have a name linking me to Hoggy?

Well, that's a moot point for me as I have signatures and avatars turned off. So I'd be none the wiser.
