Lowlights of the Games

What should’ve been a highlight was Remco Evenepoel’s finishing line celebration in front of the Eiffel Tower. Would’ve been an iconic picture. But the failure to have any photographers in the right spot to capture the moment made it a huge opportunity missed.

To be honest I haven't really cared for this year's Olympics
The opposite for me. Tokyo was pretty hard to get excited about at times and IMO probably shouldn't have even happened in the midst of the pandemic, but Paris has more than made up for that - right up with Sydney, Beijing and London in terms of my favourite ones to watch and follow.

Athens was pretty good too tbf. Birthplace of the Olympics, medallists got laurel wreaths, and the men's triathlon was epic as was Sarah Ulmer's ride.

The boxing controversy

Too many nonsensical 'sports' and events

The chauvinism around China doing well including frankly racist accusations

I think all the games from Sydney to now have been good, bar Tokyo but that was wrecked by COVID and probably would've been ace had it gone ahead as anticipated. The last genuinely terrible games was Atlanta 1996, so looking forward to LA...

Will be interesting to see what the Athletics World Championships are like next year as that's being hosted in Tokyo.

Racist accusations like the dodgy testing cover up for 23 of their athletes, some of whom were competing?

We did no such thing. No Australian athlete has ever dodged a doping test, or indeed competed under the influence of Mark Wood.

The percentage of Australian athletes tested before the Olympics certainly outstrips those undertaken by NZ athletes, who suspiciously did exceedingly well in what was obviously a

History tells us Australians do not drug cheat. Which is why we can confidently say Our Cadel is the only clean winner of the Tour De France since about 1960.

I mean, if your most famous sportsman can get banned from an entire World Cup, it makes you wonder what the rest of the less conspicuous are up to....
