I can assure you people do get pulled-up for insulting people where swearing's not involved.

Another thing to think about is that Mods don't read everything - if they read something and spot an insult, they'll say "don't do that". However, the eye is instinctively drawn to something which contains several lines of stars. This makes it more likely that an insult with swearing will be picked-up.

And of course, instances like Gundry's earlier in this thread are, rightly, going to result in on-the-spot bans, as they're going to be reported.

Nonetheless, I'm very confident, TBH, that were nibbs to repeat his "

hey richard... you are lame, go find somewhere else to play" today he, like Borcich with his "Rodgie... **** me you're a ****" would cop a hefty ban.

I basically insulted Rodgie 8 or more times in a single post, but because I didn't swear it didn't receive much attention.

I've read it, and a true gem it may be, but it certainly did get attention.

As did Mitchell's in CW XI. But because it was Rodgie, who had it coming to him, not a hell of a lot was done.

Of course, Gundry deserved his ban because he went totally OTT and lost the plot completely... which was hardly a surprise to me.

It helps if people report it though. I know from personal experience when I just skim through threads I might miss abuse that is more subtle. That won't happen with four stars which stick out like a sore thumb.

That's true. I can't remember ever reporting a post. Maybe I should do so more in the future
