Lions Pull Off Trading Coup
By Paul Gosford.
The Brisbane Lions, who were heading into this match dreadfully underprepared after only a two day break from their last match, have pulled off the recruiting coup of the last few years by contracting Texas Pete from the Dallas FC to play in the forthcoming match against the Testing Forum FC. Known for his dislike of anything to do with Superted, he has deliberately targeted McNamara for the opposition, despite his poor form in recent weeks. McNamara has had his fair share of controversy in recent times, including instigating a fight at training between himself and Peter Young, after Young disrespected the institution that is "buyer's rights".
Unfortunately, Texas Pete is known for his lack of smarts, and as such steds is feeling very nervous, as no-one is putting it past Texas Pete to confuse Paddington Bear and Superted.
Texas Pete was saddened, however, by his partner-in-crime Skeleton not transferring to the Lions with him, due to salary cap pressures. "With Texas Pete demanding such a high salary, to fund the TNT and anvils he says that he requires to bring down the opposition, we just didn't have the money to be able to afford Skeleton." said Lions CEO Graeme Hondry. "It is an unfortunate circumstance, but we're talking with Dallas FC and hopefully they'll accept Johnathon Brown in return for Skeleton. We're yet to convince them it's a fair trade, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time".
