Indian Batsmen of the 90s were kind of hopeless against pace outside Tendulkar, almost like 90s english and kiwi batters against spin, Ambrose wouldn't struggle.

With the caveat that he's close to full fitness. Truth be told, his surgery did greatly diminish him.

It's a testament to how well he adapted his bowling I suppose, because while I believe you in terms of being diminished after surgery (hard to tell for me as an Aussie because he always seemed great against us), it isn't really borne out significantly in the pre- and post-surgery numbers. A slight reduction in workload and penetration, a slight improvement in average, but overall not a big step in either direction.

Fair assessment.

Yeah, it's a testament to his ability that he was able to maintain his numbers and value to the team. He never hurt them.

I'm so tired of this penetrative argument as if it was just him.

Ambrose in

Pak. - 60
S.A. - 57
Eng. - 55
Aus - 48

Imran Khan in (preferred period in brackets)

Aus. - 67 (63)
Eng. - 62 (59)
Ind. - 61 (61)
N.Z. - 75 (66)

McGrath in

Eng. - 40
Ind. - 57
Pak. - 63
S.A. - 63

Who out of the 3 was the least penetrative?

The even worse in SA was better than Imran managed in any of the countries referenced there.
Don't want to bother to debate this but you are unnecessarily bringing in Imran in a Ambrose vs McGrath chat.
