Viscount Tom
International Debutant
Can see him opening in the T20s with Hales given he's the more in form of the two current openers.
Gayle is the only one I can think of.Yeah in T20 he's a huge asset, how many players from any country would you pick before him?
Actually reckon KP is a lot smarter than he looks and might have pulled a swifty on everyone.
Pretty clear he wanted a rest for 8 pretty meaningless ODI's, so he's retired, gone on holidays in SA, come back fresh for the series against his homeland knowing he'll be under intense scrutiny for that period. He'll be in much better shape for the huge mental load he'll have than had he played the nothing ODI's.
From there, he comes out of retirement for the T20 WC which he wanted to play in, plus he may very well now have lost his ODI spot which you'd imagine might not keep him up at night.
He's probably finished one step ahead of where everyone predicted and might end up getting his way after all.
Or ask him what the next winning Euromillions numbers will be.So let me get this right, you reckon KP knew that Bell and Bopara would have great series against Oz, hence rendering him out of the ODI reckoning. Brilliant, not only is KP cleverer than any of his interviews have ever suggested, he can look into the future, and see two under-performers turn in brilliant returns. Maybe we should put him on the selection panel?
Not at all. But he would have known that somebody would have an opportunity to make the spot their own in his absence. So let me get this right, you reckon KP knew that Bell and Bopara would have great series against Oz, hence rendering him out of the ODI reckoning. That's assuming that he actually ever thinks of anyone else. Not at all. But he would have known that somebody would have an opportunity to make the spot their own in his absence.
omg this would be hilarious. Pietersen carrying the drinks as england continue with the current top 4.The point being that there's every chance now, that he'll be carted around the world as back-up and not even play. This Master-plan, really isn't that master TBH.
It's very much my dream scenario....omg this would be hilarious. Pietersen carrying the drinks as england continue with the current top 4.
All too believeable.Victor James Marks said:The murmurs are that the players have hardly been heartbroken at Pietersen's absence
But only on his terms, of course! It's really a nice to know. KP is willing to back ro play all the format for English team...
Superbbbb!!!
You know this how? do think the likes of Morris and Flower would bow to his terms. But only on his terms, of course!
Little of the latter, a lot of the former, one suspects. The papers this morning say that KP's 'people' have made the offer to the ECB that if KP can miss the May tests to play IPL then he will play all three forms the rest of the time.
Wtf is going on? KP being daft or the ECB hitting back trying to make him look like a money-grabber?
Combination of shed-loads to do at work, and getting a bit bored of us beating the Aussies all the time...Little of the latter, a lot of the former, one suspects.
Missing tests to play IPL doesn't in any way make KP look like a Saffer carpet bagger.
Where have you been, btw? Hibernation is traditionally a winter activity...
Said that all along, both seem as bad as each other and like you say can't see this ending in a satisfactory way.So basically he wants back in to play the T20 WC but wanted a rest as he plays virtually every game for England without a rest and optionally goes to IPL too. He wants his cake and to eat it, can't blame him for that but it makes you wonder why he and the selectors couldn't have sat down and thrashed it out over a proper rest regime instead of both having hissy fits and a stand off.
Can't see Morris and Flower taking him back. Would obviously be an asset to the T20 side and the fact a refreshed KP scored that massive double ton showed he was probably right that he needed a rest. Not going to end satisfactory anyway.
That is the suggestion coming from sources at the ECB.
