Shakib Al Hasan being in the top 20 test all rounders of all time let alone the top half dozen is an abomination and shows many CW members have mashed pumpkin for brains.
These are the rankings 11-25. None if them are/were better than Shakib (although Grace and Procter probably were).
11-25
Jadeja, Stokes, Noble, Greig, Goddard, Cairns, Mankad, Mushtaq Mohammed, Flintoff, Gregory, Barlow, Armstrong, Ashwin, Hammond, and Holder.

Would deadset have more than half of those blokes over him. The bloke is a myth.
You’re earlier post about Aus wanting him at six, he wouldn’t average 30 batting here tbh, and probably 40-50 odd with the ball. Bloke is junk. You’d like to play against him for a living every week.

Acrually, those numberS probably mean we probably would have had him tbf

I am going with Kapil. He damaged his bowling stats by extending his career but was a fine bowler. Shakib not averaging even 40 despite playing in a flat bat era tells me the difference in batting between them isn't that consequential

Most of his career hasn’t been a “flat bat era” has it? He only started in 07 and is still playing now.

Shakib Al Hasan is such a myth. This thread is an insult to Dev tbh. The other bloke isn’t fit to carry his jockstrap. Wish I could vote 100 times for Kapil here.
This, pretty much. What a ridiculous comparison!

Flat bat era seems to be whatever period suits the agenda against the modern player these days.
And its taken both ways too haha. Condemned for not averaging more with the bat cos its flat but also only bowls in good bowling conditions. Such bull

Shakib batting >>> Devs

Nah, the idea was always that a batter gets an average boost for batting in such an era which is pretty clear. I agree though that Shakib is still better than Kapil as a bat but I think Kapil's quality as a bowler was more consequential.

Depends on the lineup imo. I'd generally take the test class batsman who is a test class spinner over the test class pace bowler who is an okay batsman. But that's probably because NZ has never had a spin bowler as good as Shakib and has plenty of better bowlers than Dev
