Hobbs is either 2nd if 5th depending on criteria.

I think we underrate openers. It's the hardest place to bat. Had they batted in the middle order, their stats would only look better. Maybe I need to further account for this.

I reckon pace bowling became a strong thing in 30s, with Windies and Bodyline, and then along the way some outliers came but it stayed between 80mph and 95mph.

If we're talking about Waqar.

He, along with Bishop were terrifyingly fast. I can't put a number on it, but both would have been up there with Patterson and Malcolm if not faster.

This is just from my memory though.
This>>. I have no reason to argue when someone is calling my opinion as a joker when saying Waqar was quicker than Bumrah. And there is argument being made on he wasn’t.

quicker or not quicker, at this stage there is zero argument he’s better. The only thing he has a long period of mediocrity more than Bumrah.
Let Bumrah take 275 ish wickets at less than 21 ish and I would agree.

Waqar took twice as many wickets as Bumrah and at a stage of his career was averaging the same as Bumrah. Plus demolished lineups in his peak. Absolute terrifying in his peak. Someone incomparable for me. We aren’t comparing Waqar to Marshall for him to have no argument.
