Most of the batsmen today want to excel in T20s or IPL and hence they lack the patience & skill necessary to survive in Test cricket.

Hint — That person is someone who scored 5 hundreds in the same series against Bumrah in the same year, 4 hundreds against him in one series.
Root averages 31.8 against Bumrah in tests and 12 against him in Odis btw

You were using Pontings average against specific bowlers against him even though he scored hundreds against them

But Nah I'll be fair for you, 2024 series was a Bumrah win through and through, Root played miserably in the first three tests. 4 hundreds against Bumrah + good support is nuts though, even your hating ass has to admit.

Yea he should try to extend his test career till 2028
he probably will

he wants to play Marquee ODIs and The World cup until 2027, and there is just no way an English cricketer retires from tests before ODIs. Fitness, health care and so forth are at absolute peak of what they ever were so I think he can pull it off, his type of batters (technical nudgers) don't really decline with age either, so we should've quite a few years unless something goes horribly wrong.

During the lunch break I was watching some highlights of T-20, and I've said this before... This era of batsmen don't know how to build innings. The bowling isn't better, more matches are ending in results because too many of the batsmen are brought up on ****.

I personally don't watch it, wishes we didn't allow our youngsters to play it.

Building an innings is an art and it has to be practiced. If you play T20s and modern day one day for a long time, you will eventually forget how to play proper test cricket.

Whatever it takes!!!
I was talking about fast bowlers.

😂

Kumble averages 32 in SA, 37 in Aus, 40 in NZ, 41 in Eng, 42 in Pak and 44 in SL.

Ashwin has hardly played in NZ. He averages 42 in Aus & 49 in SA. Yeah compared to Kumble, he has a better record though.
There are 4-5 ATG spinners at most, Murali, Warne, Laker, O Reilly and Grimmett

Murali

Warne

O Reilly
Ashwin
Laker
Grimlett
Kumble

all ATG bowlers.
