Marshall has the best record at least statistically and he had an injury in that series.

Bumrah has a 25+ average in two countries.

in Eng : Avg of 26 in 9 Tests

in NZ : Avg of 31 in 2 Tests

If he can get his average in both these countries as well to sub 25, he will have a perfect record at least statistically

Honestly a pretty sorry looking set of numbers when laid out like that.

Steyn managing to average 27 in Australia when the aggregate average in those tests was 40+ is not a "flaw" lol. You blokes are stuck in this ridiculous endless loop of going "More than 25 means bad, less than 25 means good." Look at these stats, those pitches were absurdly high scoring.

The respective aggregate averages in games Marshall and Ambrose played in Australia, for reference, was 32 and 31.

Not that it wasnt apparent watching those test matches, but the numbers prove beyond a doubt Australian pitches on those SA tours in 08 and 2012 were ridiculously batter friendly to an extent not seen in the 80s or 90s.

Steyn’s flaw is not his average in Aus or even in SL because it got worse in the final stages of his career but his record in England which is surprising

Just how poor the batting is?
Rather dissapointing, batters can't really build innings anymore and grinding is difficult, those willing to grind are often rewarded like Rahul/Root/ Smith last inning but this generation's defensive capabilities to fight out in difficult conditions is certianly vastly inferior to older generations. combine that with wobble seam, the reinforced Kookabura seam and every country (barring England in 2022 and Ashes 2023, and Newzealand) just keeps making Wful turners (India/SL) or Seamy greentops (Australia/South Africa) and then to top that all, I think the home bowlimg attacks of all the teams today are exceptionally strong.

so yeah, all those combined and bowling averages competely fell off.
