Ashwin is overrated because he gets dropped for Jadeja on overseas tours

since then

Jadeja shouldnt be picked in an Indian atg xi because he gets dropped for Ashwin on overseas tours

what the ****
Ashwin is a greater bowler, and overall player than Jadeja imo, but Jadeja is extremely useful on any team, but yeah that is a funny observation.

Jadeja might be the only Frontline quality spin bowling all-rounder of the modern (post 1970 debut) Era?

(Personally, don't rate Shakib's spin bowling enough to consider hin a Frontline quality bowler, although his batting is marginally better)

Both are right and both have happened.

Jadeja might be the only Frontline quality spin bowling genuine all-rounder of the modern (post 1970 debut) Era?

Jadeja is neither an atg quality batsman nor bowler and he throws off the balance, What's the upside?
Actual performances in the last X years where he’s dragged the side from an embarrassing position to post a decent, competitive total that the bowlers can then work with.

In fact, balance is literally the thing he brings.

proof is in Watson and Symonds getting picked for Australia when available
This is bull**** that gets thrown around here a lot. Watson didn't get in the team with any regularity until, what, 2009? And Symonds in 2007. Neither are getting in the Test side regularly from 1999-2005, it wasn't until the likes of Waugh, Martyn etc retired. In fact Symonds came in for a regular spot the very game after Martyn retired.

Don't get me wrong, the overall point is right, if Aus had a Kallis sitting in the wings he would play ahead of a Martyn, Katich or whoever the least good top 6 bat would be. But Symonds and Watson are NOT examples of this.

Edit: didn't mean to come across so harsh, because again, the actual point being made is a good one. Just used a bad example

I don't think an extra lower order bat is as critical as you are making out in an ATG game at the expense of specialist bowling skill.

Shameless bozos crying about ATG Jadeja and Ashwin but are fine with handicapping Indian XIs real or imaginary with 4 bowlers. Should be fired into the Sun for being terrible at thinking about cricket. Get in the rockets you dummies.

i did say when available for a reason bro

and besides you’re not disagreeing with me in any way tbh, you’ve cropped out the part where i said they didnt have an all rounder knocking on the door for selection in the team’s prime
