As for Coco the Clown, yes Fleming was a very good captain, he worked with limited resources and got the best from his team and kept a pretty ordinary side punching above their weight for many years. If you think that Clarke is better fair enough but I think most people would agree that Clarke has more better players at his disposal than Fleming had.

Clarke has made a promising start but you lot are going on like he is Benaud or something, all I was saying was lets wait another year or so before claiming he is some sort of superman. FFS can't anyone have a differing opinion without upsetting the crims these days?

I think there's a tendancy to equate aggressive captaincy with good captaincy. It's probably a failing I share myself.

What I will say about Clarke is that he has the balls to back his instincts and his instincts have served him pretty well so far. Clarke at least gives the impression his captaincy makes a difference to his team's performance; too many are prepared to captain by rote and, sadly, I'd probably have to include Strauss in that bracket.
