Is Collingwood good enough to be a regular Test batsman?

I doubted him at the beggining of the series, and I admit that I have been completley surprised by just how well he has coped, especially against Warne. Good on him, he seems a great bloke too.

I doubted that he would prosper on the quick and bouncy Australian wickets, but the way he has played has made me so proud. I've always been a big fan of his. One of the better players in the game if only because of his determination. Great story IMO.

argh i didnt think we had that many double centurions in recent years considering that we havent had that many big scores. cant believe i missed out on the fastest one though.

I predicted before the series started that he'd play at least one back to the wall innings in this series and he's already played 2 so ive been right on that count. i didnt think he'd be leading run scorer, because hes been largely inconsistent over his test career(usually one or 2 good scores a series and a fair few small scores), and for some reason i still think that he wont be the leading run scorer for England this series. Players follow patterns IMO.

Why? It's not like this wicket has pace or bounce...

And he hasn't, as we havn't seen any.

but the way he has played has made me so proud
You're easily pleased then as it's been on the flatest, most powderpuff bowlers graveyards ever known.

I assume Stuart Clarkes knock of 38 in Brisbane must also rate highly on your most proud moments? That's how easy it's been. Infact, the track he did it on was a virtual seamers paradise compared to where Collingwood got his double hundred.

I mean, there's only been about 10 other centurions in the same games. 8-)

So before you get too excited, Crowe said it best....

"Theres only three things certain in life. Death, taxes and a century at the Adelaide Oval."

so...why aren't you a test cricketer when everything is so easy?
I got respect for a player who reaches fifty...I got a hellavallujah lot of respect for a guy who makes a twin century!
doesn't matter on what pitch it's made, adelaide oval or not, the guy showed guts and made the runs, while other clearly didn't!
the guy scored 90 in Brisbane aswell, so he showed he bloody well can bat!
better then 90% of the bloody squad at the moment.

Really people on this forum need to stop going up and down about players after one or two performances. After he failed in his first test in the subcontinent there were people calling for his sacking and now that hes scored a double hundred and a 95 on a bunch of feather beds people are thinking hes the best player since Wally Hammond. Hes played very well this series there is no doubt about it, but hes still only shown us what we already knew, that hes a very good player on slow, flat wickets and an excellent player of spin and any fool could have predicted that after watching him in the subcontinent.
