Phlegm will start us off, bowling to Fleming. The left-hander starts cautiously, almost playing out a maiden before keeping the strike with a single.

Winne starts with the new ball at the other end. There's a single into the off side from Fleming, before a huge shout for lbw against Papps - the umpire says not out. Not sure what for, mind - that looked plumb. Only the one run from the over.

Phlegm has got something over his namesake here, probing away on a good length, and after two blocks he beats the outside edge. There's an edge played intentionally down and reaches slip on the bounce, and that's a maiden.

The CWers continue to keep the opening batsmen in their shell, but there's still no wicket. Papps gets off the mark as he takes one off another tight Winne over.

After four dot balls and a single, we finally get our first boundary of the day. Off the last ball of the 5th over, Fleming eases a straight drive for four.

6th over

A Winne inswinger nearly cuts Fleming in half, but he's beaten the inside edge. Two runs come off the over.

7th over

Fleming hits a beautiful off drive for four, and they take another couple of singles from Phlegm's fourth over. The kiwis are starting to find their feet now.

8th over

What did I say? Just as Fleming was looking good, he completely misses a straight ball and Winne's bowled him. That's a big wicket. McMillan sees out the over without scoring.

9th over

Capone comes into the attack and only concedes a pair of singles, beating Papps' outside edge with the final ball of the over.

10th over

McMillan cuts Winne to the boundary for four. That's the first bad ball Winne's bowled all morning. Six runs from the over.

10 overs
New Zealand 25/1
McMillan 6 (8), Papps 7 (30)

11th over

This is poor from Capone, as Papps gets three boundaries away, one cut and two driven.

12th over

Lucky for Capone that Winne is on fire at this end. After two dots he pins McMillan lbw, plumb as plumb can be. Two more dots before Oram gets off the mark with a single.

13th over

Phlegm returns for another burst before the 15 over mark. Five runs come from it, including a cover drive for four by Oram.

14th over

Winne will continue, and some superb fielding on the boundary from Hing keeps an Oram drive going for four. Three from the over.

15th over

Phlegm's second ball beats Oram's flashing blade, the third is a single, and the rest are dots.

New Zealand 47/2
Oram 8 (11), Papps 21 (46)

Good start, though Papps is supposed to be gun in ICC so we could yet be in for a high total.

16th over

It's time for spin as the field goes back. After Oram takes a single, Corrin's second ball is eased down to third man for four by Papps. But he's got him! A leading edge goes straight to Spark at square leg, Papps has gone for 25 off 48. Corrin tosses it up invitingly to the new batsman, and Fulton takes the bait, smashing his first ball for four down the ground. That's an eventful over to say the least.

17th over

We'll have spin from both ends as Hing comes on. Oram is all too happy as he takes two fours, it's getting clear why he was sent up the order. 10 from the over.

18th over

The Corrin-Fulton battle resumes, but it's not going anywhere. Great length from Corrin, stauch defence from Fulton, it's a maiden.

19th over

Oram pummels Hing through midwicket for another four, but attempts a sweep next ball and a top edge falls just short of third man. Seven from the over.

20th over

Danger man Oram takes a swing and a miss at two balls from Corrin, the leggie is getting a lot of turn out there, but Oram has the last say with a four larruped through midwicket.

21st over

Hing's third over is more what you'd expect at this stage of the game as he's worked around for four singles.

22nd over

Tight again from Corrin as he keeps Oram from scoring for four balls, and only concedes a single. How long before Oram lashes out?

23rd over

Two singles come of the first five balls, before Hing messes it up with a legside wide. They've scampered through while the keeper runs to collect, and another single means it's five off the over.

24th over

Corrin will continue, and finally gets Fulton - the batsmen looked absolutely clueless there as a wrong 'un got through the gate to bowl him. Two more singles off the rest of the over, and the leggie is putting CW well on top.

25th over

Capone comes on to shake up the new batsman, but an outside edge from Sinclair squirts away to third man to get him off the mark. Four from the over.

New Zealand 95/4
Oram 39 (43), Sinclair 3 (7)
