Whatever it takes!!!
Good win and nice that I was able to contribute a good knock in the second dig. Hope my keeping has been holding up well in those surfaces too.

1st ODI vs India

India batted first on a worn track. Winne, Ikram and Noble were brought back.

Playing XI: Heads, Dharan, Spark, Riley, Narang, Ikram, Winne, Corrin, Capone, Noble, Dean

Noble's comeback began badly as his first two balls were hit for four by Sehwag. Sehwag coninued to attack, and by the time he was bowled in the 15th over, he'd contributed 49 of India's 79 run opening stand.

Dean went for 28 in his opening spell, but from there Corrin and Ikram were able to assert some control. Corrin removed Rowland lbw for 43 soon after the 100 came up, and in the following over Ikram snared the big fish as he had Tendulkar hit one straight to Riley.

With the run-scoring almost completely dried up, Corrin caught a leading edge from Laxman to dismiss him for 1 off 11 balls. Deshpande got a 3-ball duck when he edged Ikram behind, and India had barely progressed, to 115/5 off 29 overs. Kambli was still there, on 7 from 32 balls.

Corrin signed off with a wicket maiden as he bowled Harbhajan Singh, and finished with the remarkable figures of 10-3-20-4. Kambli provided some resistance during his painstaking 28 from 66, but Capone and Winne shared the last four wickets to dismiss the home side, Capone's final spell being 2.3-2-4-2. India were all out for 168 in 43 overs.

Heads and Dharan showed up the Indian batting during the visitors' reply. Cautious at first, by the time the 50 partnership came up in the 14th over the pair were on track for a comfortable victory.

Heads' 50 came from a run a ball, and Dharan's a few overs later from 67 deliveries. At the start of the 30th over, Heads was on 90 from 87 balls when was out lbw to Gagandeep. The left-hander had missed a wild swing for the ropes with five runs needed, and Dharan, with 75 off 90, hit the winning runs instead with a textbook cover drive. CW had won with 20 overs to spare.

CW won by 9 wickets

MotM - Martyn Corrin

2nd ODI vs India

Hing came in for Dean and Noble was changed for Dong, as India won the toss and batted.

CW's opening pair kept things tight in the opening exchanges, with only 13 runs coming off the first 6 overs. Winne came on for the 7th over and with his third ball induced Rowland to nick one to slip.

Tendulkar and Sehwag began to look more comfortable, and caught up with a good rate before long. The score was on 75/1 after 18 when Ikram dropped a dolly at point, off the bowling of Corrin, that would've had Tendulkar in the hutch for 29.

Both him and Sehwag raised fifties, but Ikram made up for his blinder when the last ball of his second over took out Tendulkar's off stump. The match was in the balance at 125/2 after 27 overs.

The error started a collapse. Having bowled 9 tight overs without reward, Corrin got one to spin back in to Kambli and bowl him, and came off with figures of 1-28 from his 10. Laxman nicked off to Ikram, and the next over Deshpande had his bails clipped by Winne. CW were well on top at 142/5.

India revived somewhat after Harbhajan had stuck with Sehwag for a 40-run partnership, but that was ended when Capone took a wonderful boundary catch to dismiss Sehwag (76 off 113.)

Harbhajan's 34 was able to scrape India past 200, but once Kumble chipped Capone to mid-off the tail did not last long. Gagandeep was lbw to a Dong yorker and the right-arm quick had both Harbhajan and Paul bowled in successive balls. That was Dong's fourth and completed the Indian innings, all out for 208.

Dharan (16 off 20) went early on in the reply. Backing away past leg stump, a ball from Salvi followed him and clipped the top of of leg. Spark went soon after, nicking off for 3, and CW were in trouble as they struggled to contain the rate - the score a miserable 58/2 after 20.

Heads was bowled by Salvi in the next over (for 30 off 59), and when Kumble had Riley lbw (a painful 12 off 55) India looked the favourites.

That soon turned into India looking dead set for victory as the collapse continued. With Kumble and Gagandeep Singh doing all the damage, Ikram fell for a run-a-ball 13, and Winne, Corrin and Hing all departed for single figures. When Dong was bowled for a streaky 12, CW were staring at defeat from 137/9.

Narang, however, was still there, and when Capone threw caution to the wind and bludgeoned four boundaries in an over, the visitors found them selves ahead of the rate as well. The pair kept going, past 150 and then past 175. At the start of the 44th over, only 27 were needed for victory.

It wasn't to be. Capone was bowled by a Salvi yorker, and the CWers were all out for 186.

CW lost by 22 runs

MotM - Gagandeep Singh
