3rd ODI vs India

CW made two changes for the third match, Corrin coming in for Dean after a disappointing couple of matches, and Noble replacing Capone, who had picked up a hand injury. India won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Soon this looked like an error as the pitch looked a dream to bat on. Heads and Narang started with a brisk opening partnership of 91 before Heads was caught in the deep for 51 off 58 in the 21st over.

Dharan soon looked to continue his fine form, putting on another 118 with Narang (79) and 58 with Ballich, bringing up his hundred at better than a run a ball, and departed for 106 with his side in an excellent position at 267/3 in the 46th.

Ballich was run out for 29 in an attempt to force the pace, but lower-order hitting from Spark (22* off 8) and Ikram (12* off 5) pushed the home side's score past 300.

CW 303/4 - Dharan 106, Narang 79

India's response started poorly as Noble had Sehwag caught off the last delivery of the first over for 4. Gambhir counter-attacked with 32 off 22, with Noble's opening spell costing 8 per over, but was caught behind off Phlegm. Kambli was clean bowled soon after as Winne once again took a wicket in his opening over.

India had reached 77-3 when the spinners came on, and promptly the innings found itself in tatters. Hing was the chief destroyer, taking 5.1-0-25-5, including the big wickets of Tendulkar (30) and Laxman (13), along with Kumble and Harbhajan to take the game away from India.

The match was all but over when Corrin dismissed the last recognised batsman, Despande, for 15, and Hing completed the rout by trapping G Singh lbw. The visitors had lost 7 for 34 in just under 10 overs.

India 121 all out - Hing 5-24, Corrin 2-12

CW won by 182 runs

Whatever it takes!!!
yay... finding some form in ODIs :) Way to Hing Narang and all other CWers too.. Time we chalked up them wins in CW Land..

BTW, on a serious note, has there been any keeper who batted at 3 regularly? I guess Sanga but apart from him?

I think Haddin has done it a fair bit in ODIs. I might open with you if you keep owning the place like this.

4th ODI vs West Indies

CW made another two changes for the dead rubber, having already booked their place in the tri-series final. Ikram and Phlegm were rested and replaced with Clark and Riley. CW won the toss and batted.

The openers struggled to attack, and Heads managed 17 off 24 before becoming the first wicket to fall. Narang's innings came to a frustrated end when he was bowled by Best for just 8 off 28 balls.

Ballich went in a similar manner, contributing only 15 from 46, before Spark was again out to his first delivery to leave CW on a disastrous 66/4 in the 24th over.

Dharan (44 off 56) and Riley (50* off 88) managed to restore some shape to the innings, but it was Riley and Winne who gave CW a chance of victory. Coming in at 106/6 after 31, the all-rounder hit 65 off 57, putting on an unbeaten 106 with Riley to restore the home side to a defendable score.

CW 208/6 - Winne 65*, Rliey 50*

CW needed new-ball wickets to defend such a total, but the West Indies took control with a serene opening partnership of 93 in 19 overs.

Corrin was the only bowler to provide some respite for CW, dismissing both openers in his first two overs. However, Lara and Chanderpaul put on another 63 runs for the third wicket in good time to put the game beyond doubt. Corrin dismissed Chanderpaul to complete his spell and Lara was caught in the deep off Winne, but by that point knocking off the runs had become a formality.

West Indies 209/4 - Gayle 51, Corrin 3-31

West Inides won by 6 wickets with 12 balls remaing

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Is Al Capone coming back for the final Jake?

your match reports are great to read.
He is coming back, and thank you.

Needs scorecards. Great job though
Yeah scorecards would be awesome.
Would you prefer the scorecards to the reports? I might do both, but only for big matches.

Your wickets so far are Lara, King (Tests), Hinds, Lara, Kambli, Lara. (ODI). You've got Lara out every time you've faced him...

You've been something of a bits-n-pieces merchant so far but handy - 17 runs, average 17, SR 113. 11 overs, no wickets, economy 3.63.
