Indian team complains about bland Australian food

Kolkata is 1,600km from Chennai, but it may still be too close for comfort tbh.

I'll probably be in Mumbai in March to catch up with Sachin on the way back from Dubai, assuming Mrs Burgey gets her way and we then go to Goa (I'll probably do what most blokes do and lose that argument one all). If I do spend any time in India, it would be good to catch up with some Indian CWers, though I do suspect I'd only be in those two spots.

Ok, let me know your schedule when in India. I will see if I can join you in Goa or Mumbai.

Yeah, not having to disguise rotten meat with a million spices is a real downgrade
I don't eat meat, so I don't know

When you eat animal corpses, there's always the risk that they're rotten, so meh.

If I'm going to die of botulism, may as well at least make it taste good.

Had Kangaroo today. Decent but paled in comparison to the Wagyu 6+.
Kangaroo is a terrible meat. Bland, lean, boring. I've never tried to do anything else with it but BBQ it, but it doesn't have much going for it.

Kinda a shame cos you'd imagine it'd be much more beneficial environmentally for more Australians to eat a lot of it. Wonder if anyone's put any thought into selective breeding to make it tastier?

Well, Kohli and co could always do a Warney.

Warne has craving for bean feast

Hopefully we're now at a stage where the BCCI is rich enough to airlift packed roti/subzi/pickle/theplas et al to Australia? Now that Air India is set to be privatised, might even trust them to deliver it safely.

Haha, good luck getting stuff like that past Australian customs mate. If you think Harby’s shoes in NZ was a fiasco, let them try that sort of thing.

Bland? It's got a rich gamey flavour. Stop overcooking it and have it rare, as God intended.

Bland AF.

I've cooked it rare on a BBQ. I've tried slow cooking it. Neither works.

One thing that I dont quite get is how often someone without money issues actually wants to eat a particular countries cuisine? So just say on an average week so we can go 7 lunches and 7 dinners, how many of them should be indian food?

Also im not surprised that a cricket ground that the food can be bland/spiceless. Pro athletes should have a personal chef.

On average, no more than one I would say. Indian food is so one dimensional and tedious.

And of course never, ever have an Asian dessert.
