Indian Premier League 2014

The first ball to Yuvraj was an awful wide. The next two were slow, half volleys outside off-stump, perfect for Yuvraj to hit, then a massive full toss, a slow half tracker, and a decent ball to finish. Terrible over. That's the first I've seen of him, and it wasn't good, terrible final over of an innings.

Anyone watching on ITV? Hoggard is absolutely terrible.

Delhi's plan has been to bowl outside off stump to Yuvraj, you can't fault the bowler for following his plan, Also those sixes over extra cover aren't the easiest to hit so credit to Yuvraj rather than picking on the bowler, The rest of his over was crap though.

Is this Shukla bloke the best Delhi have at the death? This is dire bowling. Impressive hitting, but this has been a god awful over.
Its Yuvraj's new modified stance. Those same balls kept him quiet in the T20 final. In ridiculous form atm. No one could have done anything to him today, not even Steyn.

I guess. The first one was a decent delivery, second one was a half volley though, much easier to hit. The plan was awful, the bowling even worse.

Boom. Murali. WAG. KP in now hopefully.

Yeah you're right, I've just gone back and watched it, the first two weren't even close to being wide yorkers.

The first one was close, second one was very hittable.

Pretty tasty first over from Murali. Shame they've chucked Agarwal in at 3. Noticed it a fair bit in this tournament, chucking average Indian players in the top 3, and leaving the world class players at 4-6. More teams need to follow KXI, who get Maxwell in at 3, to give him the most time to make a big score.

His captaincy seems to be based on extravagant huddles, much gesticulating and clapping, plenty of shouting and a minimal grasp of tactics and bowling changes. Still we all know why he's out there.
There literally hasn't been a day in this tournament where he's taken the field and we haven't heard you going on and on about him, fmd.

The IPL has been much more watchable this year. If only they cut down on the ridiculous number of pool games I think I could actually get into it.

He was the same when he was the captain of England. M not sure why people are finding him irritating, there have been quite a few mentions about his captaincy. But don't find anything wrong in a guy who constantly tries to motivate players and speaks to them, youngsters need such support and he's right in what he's doing. As of tactics, it's tough to judge since the Delhi team is not well balanced, and m sure the idea of keeping Duminy as a finisher might be a collective decision and not his personal. His captaincy is okay, Kohli, Rohit(even though MI has won the last IPL finals) and Dhawan have been horrible as captains, no one has criticized them that much.

Dhawan especially is terrible imo
He's always walking around looking perplexed and absolutely clueless in stark contrast to how he struts around like the king of the world when he plays for India. Pretty sure there was a game where he had completely lost it in the death overs and Sammy stepped in and took over.

What exactly is the logic behind batting David Warner at #4? A lot of these IPL sides seem to be batting top players too low. More teams need to go KXIP direction, and get their best player at 3. Warner should be opening really, but #3 would be a decent alternative, definitely shouldn't be at 4.

You may well be right, but it's clearly not working, and some players are just looking bemused.

I wouldn't criticise it myself, it cracks me up:laugh:
